Getting Started

  • Insert the Battery: Slide the viewfinder back, insert the battery until it clicks.
  • Insert Cassette: Set power to VCR, slide tape eject switch, insert cassette with window up, close compartment. Set TAPE/M-CARD switch to TAPE.
  • Camera Recording: Set power to CAMERA. Open LCD monitor, adjust angle. Press RECORD/PAUSE to start/pause.
  • Insert MultiMediaCard: Open LCD monitor, slide card eject switch, insert card, close door. Set TAPE/M-CARD switch to M-CARD.
  • Watch Playback: Set power to VCR. Open LCD monitor. Rewind tape, press PLAY to start, STOP to end.
  • Supplying Power: Charge battery on AC adapter. Connect DC cable to camcorder and AC adapter. Plug in AC adapter.
  • Cassette Information: Insert/eject cassettes. Understand record speed and erase protection.
  • Color Enhancement Light: Slide light into mount, press LIGHT ON to use, press LIGHT again to OFF.
  • Attaching Shoulder Strap: Thread strap through light holder and attachment rings. Adjust length.
  • Set Date and Time: Press MENU, navigate to DISPLAY SETTING, then CLOCK-SET. Adjust values using JOG KEY.
  • Using the Palmcorder Menu: Press MENU to display menus. Use JOG KEY to navigate and select items.

Troubleshooting and error codes

SymptomCorrection
No picture in the EVF or LCD Monitor

• Make sure the Power Source is connected.

• Make sure the POWER switch is set to ON.

• Check the Dew Indicator.

• Make sure the battery is fully charged.

• Make sure all necessary cables are connected correctly and firmly.

• Make sure the Lens Cap is removed.

Video cassette can't be inserted

• Make sure the Power Source is connected.

• Insert the cassette with the window side facing up.

Video cassette can't be removed

• Make sure the Power Source is connected.

• Check the Dew Indicator.

No operation starts when operation buttons are pressed

• Make sure the record tab is closed.

• Check the Battery Indicator.

Recording cannot be done

• Make sure the FOCUS is set to AUTO.

• Make sure the unit is ON with CAMERA mode.

Auto Focus does not operate

• Make sure the unit is set to REC or Record/Pause mode.

Sound from microphone can't be monitored

• Make sure the Audio on the VCR MENU is set to ST1.

Sound can't be heard
