Warranty Information

This product comes with a one-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.

  • Charging the Battery: Connect AC adapter and battery; wait for CHARGE lamp to go off.
  • Attaching Battery: Attach charged battery to camcorder.
  • Turning On: Slide power switch to ON; CAMERA lamp lights up.
  • Inserting Cassette: Open compartment, insert cassette, close securely.
  • Starting Recording: Press RECORD button; press again to pause.
  • Playback: Switch to VCR mode, rewind, press PLAY button.
  • Turning Off: Set power switch to OFF.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problems Solutions
The Palmcorder power cannot be turned on. Is the power source connected correctly?
The Palmcorder power is turned off automatically. If in Recording Pause Mode for over 5 minutes, it turns off to save power.
The Palmcorder power does not stay on long enough. Is the Battery low? Charge the Battery or attach a fully charged Battery.
Something is wrong with the Palmcorder's operation. Press the [RESET] Button. If problem persists, disconnect power for a minute.
Battery runs down quickly. Check battery charge, operating environment (cold), or if battery is worn out.
The Battery cannot be charged. Disconnect the DC Cable from the AC adaptor while charging.
Recording does not start although power is supplied to the Palmcorder and the Cassette is correctly inserted. Check accidental erasure prevention slider, tape end, power status, or condensation.
Audio dubbing cannot be performed. Check accidental erasure prevention slider or if tape was recorded in LP Mode.
The Time Code becomes inaccurate. Time Code may not be constant in reverse in Slow Motion Playback; not a malfunction.
The Remaining Tape Time Indication disappears. May disappear temporarily during Photoshot Mode. Reappears in Normal Recording Mode.
Images cannot be played back even when the [] Button is pressed. Is the [VCR] Lamp on? Playback function requires VCR mode.
Mosaic-like noise patterns appears on images during Cue, Review or Slow Motion Playback. Characteristic of digital video systems; not a malfunction.
Playback image is not clear. Are the heads dirty? Clean them.
No sound is played back from the built-in speaker or headphones of the Palmcorder. Is the volume too low? Press [PUSH] Dial to adjust volume.
Different sounds are reproduced at the same time. [AUDIO] setting in [PLAYBACK FUNCTIONS] may be set to [MIX]. Separate sounds by setting to [ST1] or [ST2].
The original sound was erased when audio dubbing was performed. Audio dubbing in [16bit] Mode erases original sound. Use [12bit] Mode to preserve it.
Sounds cannot be played back. Check [AUDIO] setting in [PLAYBACK FUNCTIONS] or if [AUDIO] is set to [ST2]. Press ] Button to cancel Variable Speed Search.
The recorded picture on the Memory Card is not clear. Check [REC MODE] in [CARD SETUP]. Set to [NORMAL] or [FINE].
Card Photoshot playback pictures do not look normal. Images may be damaged. Back up images.
Even if a Card is formatted, it cannot be used. Possible damage to Palmcorder or Card. Contact Panasonic Call Center.
