Quick Guide: Recording

  1. Attach and charge the battery.
  2. Insert a cassette.
  3. Set the mode dial to Tape Recording Mode and turn the camcorder ON.
  4. Press the Recording Start/Stop Button to begin recording. Press again to pause.

Quick Guide: Still Picture (Photoshot)

  1. Set the mode dial to Tape Recording Mode.
  2. While recording or in pause mode, press the [PHOTO SHOT] Button.

Quick Guide: Playback

  1. Turn the camcorder ON.
  2. Set the mode dial to Tape Playback Mode.
  3. Use the rewind/fast-forward buttons to locate the desired scene.
  4. Press the Play Button to start playback. Press the Stop Button to stop.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Playback picture is not clear. Dirty Camcorder heads. Clean the Camcorder heads.
Playback or recording functions do not work, screen is frozen, or indication disappeared. Camcorder is not turned off properly or other issues. Turn the Camcorder OFF. If that doesn't help, press the [RESET] button, detach and reattach the Battery or AC Adaptor.
Sound is not played back from the built-in speaker or headphones. Volume is too low. Adjust the volume using the [W/T] Lever.
Different sounds are reproduced simultaneously. [12bit AUDIO] set to [MIX]. Set [12bit AUDIO] to [ST1] or [ST2] to play back original sound or dubbed sound separately.
Original sound was erased during audio dubbing. Audio dubbing performed on [16bit] mode. Select [12bit] Mode for recording to preserve the original sound.
Sounds cannot be played back. [12bit AUDIO] set to [ST2] when no audio dubbing occurred. Variable Speed Search Function is active. Set [12bit AUDIO] to [ST1]. Cancel the Variable Speed Search Function by pressing [▷].
Magic Wire Remote Control with Narration Mic does not operate correctly. Not plugged in tightly. Ensure the plug is securely inserted into the [REMOTE] Jack.
Camcorder clatters when shaken. Moving lens. This is normal operation and not a malfunction.
