Warranty Information

This limited warranty covers product failures due to defects in materials or workmanship for specified periods.

  • Using the Battery: Charge the battery fully before first use. Attach the battery to the AC adapter and charge it. Put the charged battery on the camcorder.
  • Inserting a Cassette: Slide the OPEN/EJECT lever to open the compartment. Insert the cassette into the holder. Close the holder and then the compartment cover.
  • Turning on the Camcorder: Open the LCD monitor or viewfinder. Set the OFF/ON switch to ON.
  • Adjusting the Viewfinder: Pull the viewfinder out. Adjust it using the eyepiece corrector knob for a clear view.
  • Using the LCD Monitor: Open the LCD monitor. Adjust its angle for comfortable viewing and recording.
  • Easy to Use Mode Dial: Rotate the mode dial to select the desired mode (Tape Recording, Tape Playback, Card Recording, Picture Playback, PC Mode).
  • Using the Joystick Control: Use the joystick to navigate menus, select items, and control playback functions.
  • Using the Menu Screen: Press the MENU button to access various settings like scene mode, recording speed, language, etc.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem/Indication Possible Cause Solution
Warning/Alarm indication (!) appears Camcorder operated in Web Camera mode Do not use MENU, Recording Start/Stop, or PHOTO SHOT buttons. Do not attempt to play tape without inserting it. Insert tape. If tape has copyright protection, it cannot be displayed on PC. Check if USB driver is installed.
Battery not charging DC cable connected to AC adapter while charging Disconnect DC cable from AC adapter.
CHARGE lamp does not light up Battery not attached properly Detach and reattach the battery.
Cassette holder does not come out Cassette Compartment Cover not fully open. Close cover completely, then open again. Check if battery is low. Check if grip belt is obstructing the cover.
Cassette holder cannot be housed Battery low. Set OFF/ON switch to OFF, then ON again. Check if battery is low.
Camcorder does not function properly or data loss in card Inserting or removing card while camcorder is on. Formatting card with other device. Turn off camcorder before inserting/removing card. Do not format card with other devices.
