Quick Guide

Before Use

  1. Attaching the Battery: Connect the battery to the AC adaptor and charge it. Once charged, attach it to the Palmcorder.
  2. Inserting a Cassette: Slide the OPEN/EJECT lever, open the cassette compartment, insert the cassette, close the holder, and then close the compartment cover.
  3. Inserting a Card: Slide the OPEN lever, open the card slot cover, insert the memory card with the cut corner facing right, and close the cover.
  4. Recording on a Tape: Set the [OFF/ON] switch to [ON], set the Mode Dial to Tape Recording Mode, press the Recording Start/Stop button to begin, and press again to pause.
  5. Recording a Still Picture on a Card: Set the Mode Dial to Card Recording Mode and press the [PHOTO SHOT] button.
  6. Recording a Moving Picture on a Card (MPEG4): Set the Mode Dial to Card Recording Mode, press the Recording Start/Stop button to begin, and press again to pause.
  7. Playing Back a Tape: Set the [OFF/ON] switch to [ON], set the Mode Dial to Tape Playback Mode, rewind the tape using the [◄◄] button, press [▷] to start playback, and [■] to stop.
  8. Playing Back a Card: Set the Mode Dial to Picture Playback Mode or MPEG4 Playback Mode, and then use the playback controls to navigate through the files.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The power does not turn on. The battery is exhausted. •Charge the battery.
The AC adaptor is not connected properly. •Connect the AC adaptor securely.
Cannot record or play back tape. The accidental erasure prevention slider is set to SAVE. •Slide the slider to the [REC] direction.
Cannot record or play back card. The Card Access Lamp is lit. •Wait until the lamp turns off before operating the card.
The Card Slot Cover is open. •Close the Card Slot Cover.
Image is blurry. The lens is dirty. •Clean the lens with a commercial lens solution and lens paper.
The lens is not focused. •Adjust focus manually or use autofocus.
