Getting Started:

1. Battery: Charge the battery fully before first use. Attach the charged battery to the camcorder.

2. Cassette Insertion: Slide the OPEN/EJECT lever to open the compartment, then insert a cassette and close the holder and compartment.

3. Memory Card Insertion (Optional): Open the LCD monitor, pull it out, open the card slot cover, insert the memory card, and close the cover.

4. Powering On: Open the LCD monitor or viewfinder, set the OFF/ON switch to ON while pressing the button. The STATUS indicator lights red.

5. Recording: Set the Mode Dial to Tape Recording Mode. Press the Recording Start/Stop Button.

6. Playback: Set the Mode Dial to Tape Playback Mode. Use the joystick to rewind, play, or stop.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No power / STATUS indicator does not light Battery exhausted or not attached correctly. Charge the battery or reattach it. Ensure the OFF/ON switch is set to ON.
Cannot record Cassette not inserted properly. Tape is at end or protected. Reinsert cassette. Use a new cassette or ensure the write-protect tab is not set to SAVE.
Picture is distorted or noisy Condensation inside the camcorder. Dirty heads. Let the camcorder acclimatize to room temperature. Use a head cleaning tape.
Remote control not working Battery exhausted or not inserted correctly. Remote control is not pointed at the sensor. Replace battery. Ensure correct orientation. Point remote at the camcorder's remote sensor within the operating range.
