Charging the Battery Pack

  1. Plug in AC Adaptor.
  2. Insert Battery. CHARGE Lamp flashes, then stays lit when charging is complete.

Camera Recording

  1. Press LCD-OPEN to unlock the LCD monitor.
  2. Set POWER to CAMERA.
  3. Press RECORD/PAUSE to start recording.

Playback using the LCD Monitor

  1. Press LCD-OPEN to unlock the LCD monitor.
  2. Set POWER to VCR.
  3. Press REWIND/SEARCH to rewind tape.
  4. Press PLAY to start playback.
  5. Press STOP to stop playback.

Troubleshooting and error codes

No picture in EVF or LCD monitorConnect Power Source. Set POWER to VCR or CAMERA. Check for Dew Indication. Use fully charged Battery. Firmly connect all needed cables.
The right side of the screen appears grayish...Be sure DIGITAL WIPE is set to ON.
Video cassette cannot be inserted ...Connect Power Source. Insert cassette, window side facing out.
Video cassette cannot be removed ...Connect Power Source. Check for Dew Indication.
Operation buttons do not workMake sure record tab is intact. Check Battery Indicator. Check for Dew Indication.
Recording cannot be doneSet FOCUS to AUTO. Set POWER to CAMERA.
Auto Focus does not operateSet unit to REC or Record/Pause mode.
Sound from microphone can't be monitoredSet HIGH SPEED SHUTTER to AUTO.
Camera picture is too dark ...Press UP/DOWN button during playback (Tracking Control).
No playback picture, or the playback picture is noisy or contains streaksSet POWER to CAMERA, then set SELF DEMO : OFF in MENU screen to cancel Demo mode.
"Panasonic ITS TAPES CAN PLAY IN YOUR VCR ..." appears in EVF or LCD MonitorMake sure Memory Card is inserted.
"NO CARD" appears in EVF or LCD Monitor ...Set POWER to PHOTO. Delete some images before capturing more images.
Cannot capture the image ...Set POWER to PHOTO. Make sure Memory Card is inserted.
Cannot playback Still image ...There are no images in memory.
“NO PICTURE” appears in EVF or LCD MonitorA playback signal is not as stable as an off the air TV signal, so the top of your TV screen may appear bent or unstable during playback. This is called, "Horizontal AFC time constant change." To correct, slowly turn the TV horizontal hold control. If your TV does not have this control, or adjusting it does not help, contact your TV service center. (Some nominal service charges may be required.)
Top of playback picture waves back and forth excessivelyA playback signal is not as stable as an off the air TV signal, so the top of your TV screen may appear bent or unstable during playback.
