Troubleshooting and error codes

Cause & Remedy
  • If more than one other unit is in use, you may not be able to make a call. Try again later.
  • Your cordless handset is in the remote operation mode (p. 55). Exit the mode by pressing [OFF].
  • The cordless handset you called is too far from the base unit.
  • If 2-Way Radio mode is on on your cordless handset, turn it off (p. 46).
  • If you are having a conversation using the base unit handset during a power failure and power returns to the base unit, you cannot use the speakerphone nor the cordless handset until you hang up the call. After hanging up, you can resume all functions.
  • You need to subscribe to a Caller ID service.
  • Other telephone equipment may be interfering with your phone. Disconnect it and try again.
  • Other electrical appliances connected to the same outlet may be interfering with the Caller ID information.
  • Telephone line noise may be affecting the Caller ID information.
  • The caller requested not to send his/her information. See page 28.
  • If a call is being transferred to you, the Caller ID information will not be displayed.
  • If a (separate) Caller ID box is connected between the unit and the telephone wall jack, disconnect the Caller ID box or plug the unit directly into the wall jack.
  • Do not pause for over 60 seconds while searching.
  • If the last number dialed was more than 32 digits long, the number will not be redialed correctly.
  • The button functions as either redial or pause. It will redial the last number dialed if pressed at the outset of a call (p. 25, 27). If another number has been dialed first, it will operate as a pause button (p. 49).
  • The line mode selection is incorrect. Set line mode to "A" (p. 17).
