  • Camera Handling: Keep away from vibration, force, and pressure. Avoid dust, sand, and water. Allow camera to adjust to temperature to clear condensation.

  • Rear Dial & Cursor Button: Use for selecting items, setting values, and adjusting exposure, ISO, White Balance, Drive Mode, and AF Mode.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Possible Cause Solution
The charging lamp blinks. Charging in extreme temperatures. Reconnect USB cable and charge in a location with ambient temperature between 10 °C and 30 °C (50 °F to 86 °F).
Low power supply capacity of the computer. Ensure the computer has sufficient power.
The battery runs down quickly. [4K PHOTO] is set to [4K Pre-Burst]. Select [4K Pre-Burst] only when recording.
Focus not aligned correctly. Subject outside of focus range. Adjust focus range settings.
[Focus/Release Priority] is set to [RELEASE]. Set to [FOCUS].
[Shutter AF] is set to [OFF]. Set to [ON].
AF Lock is set inappropriately. Reset AF Lock.
Fingerprints or dirt on the lens. Clean the lens.
Subject appears skewed in pictures. Characteristic of MOS sensors. This is a characteristic of MOS sensors and not a malfunction.
Striping or flicker may appear under lighting such as fluorescent lighting and LED lighting fixture. Characteristic of MOS sensors. This is a characteristic of MOS sensors and not a malfunction. May be reduced by setting a slower shutter speed or using [Fikr Decrease].
4K photo recording stops before finishing. High ambient temperature or continuous recording. Wait until the camera cools down.
Cannot record motion pictures. Large capacity card used. May take a while after turning on the camera.
Sometimes focus adjustment with auto focus mode is difficult while recording 4K motion pictures. Auto focus speed reduced for high precision focus. This is not a malfunction.
No flash emitted. Flash is closed. Open the flash.
[Shutter Type] is set to [AUTO] or [MSHTR]. Adjust [Shutter Type] setting.
[Silent Mode] is set to [OFF]. Set [Silent Mode] to [ON].
It cannot connect to the wireless LAN. Radio waves get disconnected. Outside communication range or interference. Use within range, away from interfering devices (microwave ovens, cordless phones).
Battery indicator flashing red. Ensure sufficient battery charge.
Camera placed on metal surface. Use camera away from metal surfaces.
The lens makes a clicking noise. Normal operation of lens movement or aperture adjustment. This is not a malfunction.
Zooming stops instantaneously. Using Extra Optical Zoom. The zooming action will stop temporarily. This is not a malfunction.
