Radio station is too far away. Try an antenna with more elements.
STEREO and TUNED indicators blinking. The (DSP) processor is active. Select "DSP DEFEAT". 19
Excessive distortion in stereo broadcasts. Proximity of buildings or mountains. Change antenna position for optimal reception. 12
If using an indoor antenna, replace with an outdoor antenna. 12
Try an antenna with more elements.
AM Broadcasts
Abnormal beat heard. A television is used at the same time as the unit. Turn off the television or move it away. -
Interference from a nearby broadcast signal. Reduce treble using the treble control. 22
Humming sound when tuning. The (DSP) processor is active. Select "DSP DEFEAT". 19
Antenna wires are too close to the power cord. Keep antenna wires away from the power cord. -
Intermittent or constant static. The AC power cord's frequency is modulated and heard through the speakers. Install an outdoor antenna. 12
Interference caused by static discharge and oscillation from electrical equipment. Move the receiver away from this equipment. -
Ambience Modes
No sound reproduced from surround, extended bass, or center speakers. Speaker presence setting was incorrectly set to "NONE" or "OFF". Correct the type and presence setting for each speaker. 22, 38-39
