Playback

  • Press Play/Pause to start playback.
  • Press Stop/Turn off to stop playback.
  • Use Skip/Search buttons to move between tracks.
  • Adjust volume using the volume control.

Programming Tracks

  • While stopped, select tracks using Skip/Search and register them with MEMO.
  • Press Play/I to start program playback.

Sound Quality Options

  • Press EQ to cycle through sound modes: S-XBS, S-XBS+, LIVE, Concert hall-like sound.

MP3 Playback

  • This unit can play MP3 files.
  • MP3 files may take longer to read. "MP3" lights up on the display.
  • Album skip allows you to jump between albums by pressing and holding the skip buttons.
  • Album mode plays only tracks within a selected album.

Other Features

  • HOLD function prevents accidental button presses.
  • Anti-Skip System minimizes skipping due to vibration.
  • Digital Re-master can restore lost signal frequency.
  • Resume function allows playback to resume from the last stopped point.
  • Auto off function turns the unit off after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Mixed CD-ROM and audio data.Output from one may become silent.
No sound or there is a lot of noise.Plugs aren't inserted firmly.Ensure plugs are inserted firmly.
Plugs are dirty.Wipe plugs clean with a clean cloth.
Poor recording quality (MP3).Noise may occur.
Repeated bumps.Elapsed playing time may disappear, sound may be interrupted.
Mobile telephones nearby.Separate the unit from mobile telephones.
Play doesn't resume from the last point stopped.Changing discs.This function doesn't work if you change discs.
Random play.This function doesn't work during random play.
Some conditions.It may not work correctly under some conditions.
Play doesn't start from the first track.Random play modes are on.Turn off random play modes (page 6).
Play resumes from the last point stopped.This is normal behavior after stopping playback.
The unit stops working.Power source issue.Disconnect then reconnect all power sources (batteries and AC adaptor).
Cannot search through tracks.MP3 files.You cannot search through MP3 files.
Cannot skip albums.First and last albums.You cannot skip between the first and last albums during play.
Cannot change the Digital Re-master mode.Mode selection order.Press [] or [] before [MEMO] to change the mode.
Cannot specify the AB segment.Disc end.May not be able to specify segment A or B at the end of the disc.
Digital Re-master does not work.MP3 disc recording type.The effect may not appear depending on the MP3 disc recording type.
The unit malfunctions when connected to other equipment.Speaker impedance.Speakers connected directly should have an impedance of 1 kΩ or less. Connect other equipment through the remote control.
Cannot hear the remote control's operation tone.Tone setting.The operation tone may be off (page 6).
The remote control does not work properly.Incorrect usage.Use only the included remote control.
Cannot recharge.Battery type.Ensure you are using special rechargeable batteries (page 5).
Battery insertion.Insert two batteries before recharging.

The AC adaptor becomes warm during recharging.Normal operation.This is normal.
The batteries are taking a long time to recharge.Conditions.May take up to 4 hours under some conditions. May occur after first recharge or long disuse.
Play time is short after recharging.Battery age or storage.Battery life should restore after a few recharges. Batteries can go flat if AC adaptor is left connected after recharging.
The battery indicator fails to appear or is incorrect.AC adaptor connected.The indicator does not appear when the AC adaptor is connected.
