Picture
"Press any button to return" moves on the screen. - The remnant image prevention function is activated. (Not a malfunction.)
- The screensaver is activated if the TV is not functioning for a certain period in SD mode.
- "Image retention" (page 5).
One dot remains dark. - Plasma displays may occasionally have a missing pixel or luminescent point. (Not a malfunction.)
Disordered and noisy image. - Check nearby electrical products (car, fluorescent lamp).
Cannot view image. - Check the Picture menu (page 32).
- Check channel settings (page 40).
- Check antenna cables.
Only dots are displayed instead of images. - Check if the AC power cord is plugged into the outlet.
- Is the TV turned on?
Image and sound not produced. - Check the Picture menu (page 32) and volume.
- Are the remote control codes correct? (pages 49-51)
Black square appears. - Change subtitle (CC) settings (page 42).
No sound is produced. - Are the speaker cables connected correctly? (page 46)
- Is "Sound Mute" active? (page 17)
- Is the volume set to minimum?
- Is "Speaker Output" set to "No"? (page 32)
Sound is strange. - Change "SAP" settings (page 21).
- Check "HDMI Input 1", "HDMI Input 2" or "HDMI Input 3" settings (page 32).
A whirring sound is heard. - Set "SAP" to "Stereo" or "Mono".
- Check the HDMI device connected to the unit.
- Set the HDMI device's audio setting to "Linear PCM".
- If there is a problem with the digital sound connection, select analog sound connection.
Sound comes from the built-in cooling fan (not a defective operation signal).
