Charging the battery: Connect the AC cable to the AC adaptor and outlet. Mount the battery onto the battery mount, aligning the mark, and plug it in securely. Inserting the battery: Open the battery cover, push and slide it. Insert the battery until it clicks, pushing the center until locked. Close the battery cover. Turning the unit on: Press the lock release button and set the mode dial to AUTO, PC, or Manual. Turning the unit off: Set the mode dial to OFF. Inserting/removing an SD card: Set the mode dial to OFF, open the LCD monitor and card slot cover, insert/remove the SD card, and close the cover. Recording motion pictures: Set the mode dial to the movie icon, open the LCD monitor, and press the recording start/stop button. Recording still pictures: Set the modedial to the photo icon, open the LCD monitor, press the photo shot button halfway for focus, and fully to take the picture.
