Getting Started
- Attaching Lens Cap and Strap: Connect the string of the lens cap to the strap, then pass the strap through the strap lug and secure it.
- Powering the Camera: Charge the battery using the supplied charger. Connect the AC plug cord to the battery charger and then to the power outlet. Place the battery in the charger with the PENTAX logo facing up. The charging indicator lights up and turns off when charging is finished.
- Installing Battery: Open the battery/card cover, slide the lock lever, and insert the battery with the PENTAX logo facing the display. Match the marks and push until it locks. Close the cover securely.
- Installing SD Memory Card: Make sure the camera is off. Open the battery/card cover and insert the SD Memory Card into the socket with the label facing the display side. Push until it clicks.
- Turning Camera On/Off: Remove the lens cap. Press the power button. The camera turns on, the lens extends, and the display lights up. Press the power button again to turn the camera off.
- Initial Settings: When turning the camera on for the first time, follow the on-screen prompts to set the display language and date/time.
Troubleshooting and error codes
