Adjust the POWER slider to the desired sound source: CD, TUNER, or TAPE. The set switches off when the POWER slider is in the TAPE/OFF position and tape deck keys are released. Volume, sound settings, and tuner presets are retained in memory.
Turn the VOLUME/SOUND CONTROL CENTER clockwise to increase or anti-clockwise to decrease volume. The display shows the volume level (0-32). Press DIGITAL EQUALIZER to adjust bass, mid, and high frequencies using the VOLUME/SOUND CONTROL CENTER. Press DIGITAL DBB for Dynamic Bass Boost and INCREDIBLE SURROUND for surround sound effect.
Select TUNER source. Press BAND to select waveband. Use SEARCH ◄◄ or ►►ı (TUNING ◄◄ or ►►ı on remote) for automatic tuning. Pull out the telescopic aerial for FM reception. For MW (LW), use the built-in aerial. Stations can be programmed by pressing PROG and PRESET. Tune to preset stations using TUNER PRESET ▼ or ▲.
Select CD source. Press OPEN-CLOSE to open/close the CD door. Insert CD with printed side up. Press PLAY PAUSE ►II to start playback. Press PLAY PAUSE ►II to interrupt/resume. Press STOP to stop. Use SEARCH ◄◄ or ►►ı to select tracks. Press and hold SEARCH for fast passage finding. SHUFFLE and REPEAT modes can be selected. Tracks can be programmed using PROG.
Select TAPE source. Press OPEN-STOP ▲ ■ to open cassette door. Insert cassette and press PLAY ◄ to playback. Use PAUSE II to interrupt/resume. Use SEARCH ◄◄ or ►►ı for fast winding. Press OPEN-STOP ■ to stop. Recording requires NORMAL (IEC I) cassettes. Use Synchro Start CD recording to record from CD. For tuner recording, tune to station, press OPEN-STOP ▲ ■, insert tape, press RECORD. Clean tape deck parts regularly.
