This manual provides instructions for the Philips Compact Disc Recorder/Player Double Deck (CDR 765). It covers installation, operation, recording, erasing, playing, and troubleshooting.
Users can record audio CDs and CD-RW discs. Two recording methods are described: digital dubbing (normal or high-speed) from an external source, and synchronized digital recording from an external CD player using CD-SYNC. Analog recording is also supported.
The device can play prerecorded audio CDs, CD-R, and CD-RW discs. Users can select tracks, search, shuffle play, repeat tracks or discs, and program playback sequences.
Important notes on disc maintenance, cleaning the player, and avoiding extreme environmental conditions are provided.
| SYMPTOM | SOLUTION |
| No power | Check ON/OFF button, power cable, and switch off/on. |
| Auto track does not work | Ensure auto track is selected and there is 3 seconds silence between tracks. |
| No sound | Check audio connections, use a different source if using an amplifier. |
| Amplifier sound is distorted | Ensure the player's analogue output is not connected to the amplifier's Phono input. |
| Play will not start | Check disc label, clean disc, try another disc, ensure disc is finalized. |
| Remote control does not work | Point directly at the player, check and replace batteries. |
| Will not record | Clean disc, ensure CD-RW is not finalized, ensure disc is recordable, check input source. |
| Analog recording is distorted | Make sure the recording level is correct. |
| 20 second pause between recordings | Refer to Synchronized digital recording (CD-SYNC) p.15. |
| Player does not react | Switch the ON/OFF button off and on. |
| FECOrDER on display | Power failure during recording; player is attempting to repair the disc. If "NO dISc" appears, disc cannot be recorded further but can be played. If on CD-RW, track is lost but recording can continue. If "NO OPC" appears, disc cannot be used for recording but can be played as CD. |
| ПООГЕС on display | Non-audio track detected during scan before recording; this track will be skipped. |
