Quick Start

Insert batteries and close the compartment.
Open the CD lid and insert a CD, printed side up. Close the lid.
Press to play. Adjust volume with VOL.
Press to stop playback. Press again to switch off.

Playing a CD

Push OPEN to open the lid. Insert CD with printed side up and close lid. Press ▷ to play. Elapsed time and track number are displayed. Interrupt playback with ▷. Continue with ▷. Press to stop and 5 to switch off.

MP3-CD Playback

Place MP3 CD-ROM with label side up. Press ▷ to start playback. ESP is shown. Press to stop. Total tracks and albums are displayed.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom	Check point	Treatment
Power cannot be turned on	Batteries: Inserted correctly? Dead?	Insert batteries correctly. Replace batteries.
	Power adapter: Loose connection? Connected properly?	Connect adapter securely. Connect power adapter properly.
	In-car use: Cigarette lighter not powered? Power on?	Switch on ignition or insert batteries.
Playback is impossible or stops during playback CD	Disc cover closed properly? HOLD mode? Condensation on lens? CD inserted properly? Scratched or damaged CD?	Close cover tightly. Deactivate HOLD. Wait for lens to clear. Place CD label side up. Use another CD.
Playback does not start from first track	RESUME or PROGRAM function activated?	Switch off RESUME or clear PROGRAM.
No sound or poor sound quality	Connection plugs inserted properly? Volume set too low? Headphone plug dirty? Set near strong magnetic fields?	Check all connections. Adjust volume. Clean headphone plug. Move set away from magnetic fields.
	In-car use: Adapter cassette inserted incorrectly/properly? Temperature too high/low? Cigarette lighter socket dirty? Playback direction?	Insert adapter cassette correctly. Let set adjust to temperature. Clean socket. Change auto reverse direction.
