Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
No power. Check AC power cord connection. Press STANDBY ON on the DVD system.
No picture. Refer to TV manual for Video In channel selection. Press SOURCE to select disc mode. Set up progressive scan or switch to interlaced mode. EJECT disc. Press ◄ or SUBTITLE.
Completely distorted picture or black/white picture is displayed. Wait 15 seconds for auto recovery after changing 'TV TYPE' or switching on progressive scan. Check video connection. Clean disc.
The aspect ratio of the screen cannot be changed even though you have set the TV display. Aspect ratio is fixed on the DVD disc. May not be changeable depending on the TV.
No sound or distorted sound. Adjust volume. Check speaker connections and settings. Connect audio cables and press SOURCE to select the correct input source (TV or AUX/DI).
Cannot activate some features such as Angles, Subtitles, or multi-language Audio. Features may not be available on the DVD. Changing language/subtitle may be prohibited on the DVD.
Unable to select some items in the setup/system menu. Press STOP twice before selecting system menu. Some items may not be selectable depending on disc availability.
The DVD system does not start playback. Insert a readable disc with playback side down. Ensure DVD+R/CD-R is finalised. Check disc type, colour system, and region code. Check for scratches. Press SYSTEM MENU to exit setup screen. Enter password for parental control/disc lock. Moisture may have condensed inside the system; remove disc and leave system on for an hour.
No surround sound effect from the speakers. Press SURR. to select correct surround sound. Ensure source is recorded/broadcast in surround sound (DTS, Dolby Digital, etc.).
Radio reception is poor. Adjust antenna or connect external antenna. Increase distance between system and TV/VCR. Tune to correct frequency. Place antenna away from interfering equipment.
The remote control does not function properly. Select SOURCE before function buttons. Reduce distance to DVD system. Replace batteries. Point remote at IR sensor. Check battery loading.
Unable to play DivX movies. Check DivX file encoding ('Home Theatre' mode, DivX 5.x/6.x encoder).
The DVD system does not work. Disconnect power for a few minutes, then reconnect.
The disc in the disc slot cannot be ejected. Press and hold STOP, then press 2, 5, and 9.
No HDMI audio output. Source device may be DVI/HDCP compatible only. SACD or copy-controlled DVD-Audio sources cannot be output via HDMI.
No HDMI video output. HDMI connection requires HDMI-equipped devices with HDCP. Use a DVI to HDMI adaptor if connecting to DVI. Ensure resolution matches connected device.
