Charging the Camera: Connect the camera to the USB port of your computer. The indicator light will flash while charging and stay lit when fully charged (approx. 4 hours).

Taking Photos: Turn the power/lens cover clockwise to turn on the camera. Hold the camera vertically. Ensure the lens is not obstructed. Frame your subject through the viewfinder. Press the shutter button halfway to focus and then fully to capture and save the image.

Auto Power Off: The camera automatically turns off after 60 seconds of inactivity.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Cause Solution
Cannot acquire image The built-in battery is discharged. Recharge the battery (see Step 1 on page 56).
Cannot acquire image Insufficient memory space to acquire new images. Transfer photos or other files to your computer to free up memory space (see page 61).
USB connection Insufficient illumination. Check the illumination level.
USB connection Loose connection. Check the connection.
USB connection Incorrect operating system version. The operating system version must be later than Windows 98 or Mac OS 9.
USB connection USB driver is not installed. For Windows 98 users only: Install the USB driver contained in the supplied CD.
USB connection The camera is connected to a Mac keyboard. Connect the camera to another USB port.
