Getting Started: - Install batteries in the remote control. - Connect the DVD Recorder to your TV and power outlet. - Follow the on-screen instructions for Initial Setup, which includes setting the menu language, audio language, subtitle language, and TV shape.
Disc Playback: - Press STANDBY-ON to turn on the recorder. - Set your TV to the correct Video In channel. - Open the disc tray, load a disc, and close the tray. - Playback may start automatically or you may need to select a title/chapter or press PLAY.
Recording: - Ensure TV channels are installed. - Insert a recordable DVD+RW or DVD+R. - Select the desired channel or input source. - Press REC/OTR to start recording.
Using the Remote Control: - Buttons control playback, menu navigation, recording, and TV functions.
| Problem | Possible Solution |
| No power | Ensure STANDBY-ON is pressed, power cord is connected securely to the recorder and AC outlet, and the outlet has power. |
| No picture | Ensure TV is on and set to the correct Video In channel. Check video cable connections. |
| Picture distorted/B&W | Check Disc color system compatibility with TV, or Disc for fingerprints. Ensure TV source provides color. |
| Sound distorted | Do not connect to PHONO IN. Do not connect digital to analog jacks. |
| No sound | Check audio connections, ensure cables are firm, select correct TV/Stereo channel/source, check Analog/Digital output settings, or change Disc audio setting. |
| Recorded disc won't play on another player | Ensure recording is long enough (HQ: 5+ min, SP: 10+ min, LP: 15+ min, EP: 20+ min). Try adapting the disc format. Finalize DVD+R discs. |
| Recorder not responding to remote | Aim remote at IR sensor, remove obstacles, check/replace batteries, ensure remote is set to DVD Recorder. |
| Recordings not occurring | Check for copy-protected material, weak signal, bad disc, or ensure timer settings are correct after clock adjustments. |
| Index Picture Screen not appearing | Clean Disc or adapt disc format. |
| Recorder not working | Complete Initial Setup. Disconnect and reconnect power cord. If persists, disconnect power while holding STANDBY-ON to reset to factory settings. |
| Messages/strange codes | Remove/reinsert Disc, clean Disc, disconnect/reconnect power. During Initial Setup, ensure TV is on correct Video In channel. |
