Connecting the units

Follow these instructions carefully to connect the various components of your Pioneer AVH-2300DVD system. Ensure all connections are secure and that no wires are exposed. Pay close attention to warnings regarding driving safety and potential damage to the unit or vehicle.

Power and Speaker Connections

  • Connect the power cord, ensuring the ACC position on the ignition switch is utilized.
  • Wire the parking brake lead to the power supply side of the parking brake switch for proper parking status detection.
  • Connect speakers, adhering to the specified impedance (4-8 ohms) and power handling (50W).
  • Ground all connections properly to a clean, paint-free metal location.
  • When connecting to an external power amplifier, use the blue/white wire for system control.

Video and Audio Connections

  • Connect external video components using RCA cables.
  • The rear video output is for rear-seat passengers.
  • A rear view camera can be connected for reverse assistance. Ensure the camera outputs mirror-reversed images and set the Camera Polarity in the System Menu accordingly.

Installation

  • Prepare the dashboard by removing the holder and loosening screws.
  • Install the unit into the dashboard holder, bending tabs to secure it.
  • Attach the trim ring and any side brackets as needed.
