Basic Operation:

  • Loading/Playing Discs: Open the hood using the OPEN/CLOSE button. Load discs into the single loader slot or disc rack. Press the PLAY button to start playback. Use the number buttons or selection dial to choose discs and playback modes (Single, ALL, Custom).
  • Navigation: Use the cursor control joystick and ENTER button for menu operations. PREVIOUS/NEXT buttons skip chapters/tracks.
  • Setup: Use the SETUP button to access on-screen menus. The Setup Navigator simplifies initial setup by guiding you through audio, video, and language settings.
  • Disc Management: Input titles and artist names for discs, organize them into groups, and update information via the on-screen graphical control screens.
  • Playback Options: Control playback speed, angles, subtitles, and audio languages.

Advanced Features:

  • Variable speed scanning, repeat play, random play, program play.
  • Function Memory for quick access to frequently used settings.
  • Parental Lock for content restriction.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Troubleshooting
Problem: The hood opens automatically.Possible Cause: The disc is dirty or warped; disc loaded incorrectly.
Solution: Refer to 'Disc Care' (page 71); check disc loading.
Problem: Picture playback stops and operation buttons cannot be used.Possible Cause: Player needs to be reset.
Solution: Press STOP, then STANDBY/ON to turn off and then on again.
Problem: No picture.Possible Cause: Incorrect connection; incorrect player settings; TV or AV component settings incorrect; external input settings incorrect.
Solution: Check all connections, VIDEO SELECT position, TV/AV component settings, and external input settings.
Problem: Screen is stretched or aspect does not change.Possible Cause: Multi aspect setting is not appropriate.
Solution: Adjust [TV Screen] setting in Video menu.
Problem: Picture disturbance during playback or dark screen.Possible Cause: Macro-Vision System copy guard; disc content specific issues.
Solution: This is not a malfunction.
