Getting Started

Setting the Battery and a Memory Card: Ensure the camera is off, open the cover, insert the memory card correctly, and then insert the battery by pressing the latch. Close the cover.

Basic Shooting Operation

Shooting in Program Mode: Set the mode dial to Program AE (J). Press the shutter button halfway to adjust focus and exposure. Press it fully to take the picture. The image is displayed briefly and saved.

Taking Pictures

Setting the Exposure Mode: Choose between Program AE, Aperture Priority AE, Shutter Priority AE, and Manual Exposure modes. Adjust settings like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO sensitivity as needed.

Playback Functions

Viewing Captured Images: Press the playback button (g) to review images. Use the control dial or touch panel to navigate, zoom, delete, or display image information.

Sharing Images

Using the Camera with a Computer: Connect the camera via USB to transfer images. Ensure the camera is off before connecting. The camera will turn on and be recognized as a device.

Changing the Settings

Saving Frequently Used Settings: Save up to six custom settings and assign them to the mode dial for quick recall.

Troubleshooting and error codes

The battery cannot be charged. The battery has failed. Replace the battery with a new one.
The battery is hot. Let the battery cool down to room temperature.
The battery is quickly exhausted. Ambient temperature is very high or very low.
