Operation

Waterproof Body

The camera is waterproof up to 21 meters in its body. Ensure the microSD card slot cover is properly closed to maintain the waterproof integrity of the Actioncam 9s Cube.

Battery

Before using the device for the first time, you must fully charge the battery.

Charging the Battery

1. Connect the camera to a computer or a USB power adapter (5.0 V === 1.0 A). 2. The charge control light glows red constantly while the battery is charging. 3. The charge control light goes out when the battery is fully charged.

First Steps

- Power On: Press and hold the Power / Mode button for 3 seconds. When the camera is switched on, the operating indicator lights up. - Power Off: Press and hold the Power / Mode button for 3 seconds. - Zoom: The camera features a digital zoom. The available zoom steps are 1- / 1.5- / 2- / 2.5- / 3- / 3.5- / 4- / 4.5- and 5x zoom. Press the Up button on the side of your Actioncam 9s Cube to zoom in. Press the Down button to zoom out.

Shutter

Press the Shutter / OK button to start recording in video mode. Press it again to end recording. During recording, the recording control light flashes blue. Press the Shutter / OK button to take a picture in photo mode.

Reset Button:

If the camera no longer responds, it can be reset. Press the Reset button for this purpose.

Camera Modes

The Actioncam 9s Cube offers various photo and video modes. The following provides a brief explanation of how they work. Detailed information on the different settings can be found on the following pages.

Touch Function

You can use the touchscreen to access the camera functions. - Swipe left or right to switch between video mode and photo mode. In video or photo mode, you can switch to playback mode via the symbol in the bottom left corner and to settings via the symbol in the bottom right corner. By swiping up in video or photo mode, you open the mode selection.

Video Modes

- Video Mode Normal: You can record a single video at normal speed. - Loop Recording: If the memory card is full, the oldest recording is overwritten to continue recording. - Video Timelapse: In video time-lapse mode, the camera takes individual pictures at predefined intervals and then combines them into a video. Possible intervals are 1, 3, 5, 10, 30 seconds and 1 minute. Time-lapse recordings can be made for an unlimited length or for 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 60 minutes, with 4K 60/30 fps, 2.7K 30 fps, 1080p 60/30 fps, 720p 120/60 fps available as resolution and format. - "SlowMotion" / Slow Motion Video Mode: The camera records a sequence and plays it back in slow motion. The camera offers the following resolutions: 4K 60 fps, 1080p 60 fps, 720p 120 fps or 60 fps. - Fast Motion Video: Recordings can be made at 2x, 4x, 6x, 10x or 15x speed. The following options are available for resolution: 4K 60/30 fps, 2.7K 30 fps, 1080p 60/30 fps, 720p 120/60fps

EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization):

- 120fps: The EIS function is not available at this frame rate. - 60fps and 30fps: The EIS function is activated at these frame rates. Switch to Video Mode: EIS is only available in 60fps and 30fps video mode. - Open Settings: Tap the settings symbol. - Find EIS: Search for "EIS" in the menu. - Activate/Deactivate EIS: Turn EIS on or off.

Photo Modes

- "Single" / Single Image Mode: Capture a single image. - "Burst" / Series Image Mode: This allows you to take 3, 7, 15 or 30 shots in series. - Photo Timelapse: In Photo Timelapse mode, the camera takes a picture every 3, 5, 10, 30 seconds or 1 minute. The time period can be set to unlimited, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 60 minutes. - Self-timer: The camera takes a photo in 2, 5, or 10 seconds. - Long Exposure: The camera exposes for 1, 2, 5, 8, 30 or 60 seconds.

Settings

In the settings, you can adjust the system settings and select various parameters for the camera. Note that parameters are activated or deactivated depending on the selected video / photo mode. You access the mode-specific settings (e.g., resolution) by tapping the gear symbol at the bottom of the screen. The back symbol returns you to the previous screen.

Playback of Videos and Photos

- Click on the symbol at the bottom left to enter playback mode and view recorded videos and photos. - Now click on the symbol to view the recorded videos or on the symbol to view the recorded photos.

Deleting Files on the Camera

In playback mode, click on the rubbish bin symbol at the top right. Select the photo/video you want to delete. Now click on the bin symbol again and confirm your entry. The selected photo / video will be deleted.

Storage / Micro Cards

This camera is compatible with up to 64 GB capacity microSD and microSDXC memory card. You must use a micro SD card with a class U1 speed rating at least. We recommend using brand-name memory cards for maximum reliability in high vibration activities. Please Note: - The memory card is not included in the standard package, you will need to buy an extra memory card. - Please format the microSD or microSDXC memory card on the camera before using. - Please restart the camera after formatting. - Please insert the memory card in the correct way, otherwise the card slot might get damaged.

WiFi Setting / Operation via App

You can connect the camera to your smartphone via the integrated WiFi function. Download the free app "iSmart DV2" (Android) from the Google Play Store or the iOS version "iSmart DV2" from the App Store and install it on your smartphone. Activate the WiFi on the camera by pressing and holding the up button for 3 seconds. The camera's WiFi is activated and the name and password of your Actioncam 9s Cube are shown on the display. Then connect the camera to your smartphone by going to the Wi-Fi settings of your smartphone and selecting the network of the camera and connecting it. Open the app and connect your app to the camera by clicking on „Add camera" in the app. Now click on „Connect WiFi“ to establish a connection. Now you can operate your Actioncam 9s Cube via WiFi. Press the cross at the bottom right of the display or on the up / WiFi button to switch off the WiFi again.

Connecting to the Computer

- Connect the Actioncam 9s Cube to the computer using the USB-C cable supplied. - After you have turned on the camera, the following options will appear on the display: - Mass storage: For transferring images from the camera to the computer. It is not possible to transfer images from the computer to the camera. - PC camera: The Actioncam 9s Cube can be used as a webcam. Please note that sound recordings are made separately and not via the camera. - Camera: The Actioncam 9s Cube will continue to be used as a camera while it is charging. - Charging: The Actioncam 9s Cube is only being charged. Select an option by pressing the up and down buttons. You can confirm your selection by pressing the OK button.

Firmware Updates

If the firmware changes, we bring out new updates that you can download and install yourself from our product page in the "Downloads" area. You can find the current firmware version on your camera in the menu under "Firmware Version". To install an update, please copy the file with the extension .BRN to your micro SD card using a card reader. Disconnect the memory card from the PC and insert it into the camera. Turn on the camera and confirm the firmware update by selecting the "Yes" option with the up or down button and then confirming with the shutter / OK button. After the update is complete, the camera switches off. Format the microSD card in the actioncam via the settings menu before using it again.
