  • Inserting the battery: Align battery with compartment and insert.
  • Inserting SD card: Insert SD card metal pin into slot. Format if new or used in another camcorder.
  • Switching on/off: Open LCD to turn on; close LCD to turn off. Alternatively, press Power button.
  • Recording mode: Default mode upon startup. Press Record button to start/stop recording. Press again to pause/resume. Use Light button for dark scenes.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Solution
Camcorder cannot be started after the battery is inserted.

The battery level is low. Replace the battery.

The battery pack is not removed. Remove the battery pack.

The battery is installed upside down. Check whether the installation direction of the battery electrodes is correct.

Camcorder cannot capture images and videos after the shutter button is pressed.

The memory has been used up. Save the video/image files to another storage medium.

The images are blurred.

Hands shake during recording. Hold the DV with both hands or place the DV on a tripod or other support to stabilize it. Do not shake the DV during recording.

The images or videos are dark.

The light in the environment is insufficient. Make sure that the environment is sufficiently bright or attach a lamp to increase the ambient brightness.

The camcorder will stop automatically.

The battery level is low. Replace the battery.

To save energy, set the DV to turn off automatically if it is not operated for a certain amount of time, such as 1 minute, 3 minutes, or 5 minutes.

The camcorder files cannot be deleted.

The file protection function of the DV is enabled. Deactivate this function.

The camcorder cannot be charged.

If the charging indicator flashes red, the battery is not inserted in the correct position or has a poor contact. Reinsert the rechargeable battery until the charging indicator lights up continuously. The indicator goes out when the rechargeable battery is fully charged.

If the charging indicator does not light up, the charger is not connected correctly. Check whether the charger is connected correctly.
