Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The burners do not maintain continuous heat or do not cook quickly enough. The container may not be suitable for the cooking surface. Use flat-bottomed pots and pans that match the diameter of the selected burner.
The power (voltage) may be low in certain areas. Place a lid on the pot until the desired temperature is reached.
The burners do not turn on. A fuse in your home may have blown or a circuit breaker may have tripped. Replace the relevant fuse or reset the circuit breaker.
The cooktop controls are set incorrectly. Verify that you are using the control corresponding to the burner in use.
Discoloration on the cooktop surface. Splashes have not been cleaned off. Refer to the "Care and cleaning of the glass cooktop" section on page 26.
The surface is hot and the cooktop appears light-colored. This is normal. The surface may appear discolored when hot. This is temporary and will disappear when the glass cools down.
The burner turns on and off frequently. The burner turns on and off to maintain the set power level. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction. It occurs if the container is too small for the burner or if the bottom of the container is not flat. Use the cooktop normally.
The burner turns black when a lower setting is selected. The cooktop has not been cleaned correctly. Use a special ceramic cooktop cleaning cream. Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaners. These agents can damage the appliance surface.
Scratches or scuffs on the cooktop surface. Rough-bottomed containers have come into contact with the cooktop, or large particles like coarse salt or sand were between the containers and the cooktop. To avoid scratches, follow the recommended cleaning procedures. Ensure the bottom of the containers is clean before use and choose containers with a smooth bottom.
Containers have been dragged across the cooktop.
