1. Precautions

1.1. Safety warning

Only to be serviced by a factory trained service technician. High voltages and lasers inside this product are dangerous.

Use only Samsung replacement parts. Do not make any unauthorized changes or additions to the product.

Laser Safety Statement: The printer is certified as a Class I laser product. Never operate or service the product with the protective cover removed from Laser/Scanner assembly.

1.2. Caution for safety

Toxic material: Keep imaging unit and toner cartridge away from children. Toner powder may be harmful if swallowed.

Electric shock and fire safety precautions: Use only the correct voltage and power cable. Do not overload power sockets. Avoid water or liquids spilling into the product. Do not touch plugs with wet hands. Grip power cord firmly when removing. Ensure power sockets and plugs are not cracked or broken. Disconnect machine during thunder/lightning storms. Avoid damp or dusty areas. Do not position in direct sunlight. Do not insert metal objects into the machine.

1.2.3. Handling precautions

Install on a level surface. Be careful of rotating parts. Do not place small metal objects or liquids near the product. Avoid areas with high dust or moisture. Do not place candles or cigarettes on the product. Ensure proper temperature and humidity. If stored below zero Celsius, allow to warm up before use.

1.2.4. Assembly and Disassembly precautions

Replace parts carefully using Samsung parts. Note part locations and cable routing. Ensure power is disconnected before servicing. Disconnect interface and power cables. Use only approved spare parts. Do not use excessive force. Take care not to drop small parts. Handle OPC Drum with care, avoid exposure to light. Do not scratch the OPC Drum surface.

1.2.5. Disregarding this warning may cause bodily injury

Be careful with high temperature parts (fuser unit). Wait for fuser to cool down. Do not put fingers or hair into rotating parts. Use safe lifting techniques for heavy printers. Ensure printer is installed safely on a level surface.

1.3. ESD precautions

Certain semiconductor devices are sensitive to static electricity. Before handling, drain electrostatic charge by touching earth ground or using a wrist strap. Place assemblies on a conductive surface. Use a grounded tip soldering iron and "anti-static" solder removal devices. Do not use Freon-propelled chemicals. Remove replacement ESDs from packaging just before installing. Maintain continuous electrical contact. Minimize bodily motions.

1.4. Caution for Data Loss

To prevent loss of customer data, provide relevant information in advance.
