When the TV is initially powered on, basic settings proceed automatically:
Use the CH or CH buttons to change channels. Use the PRE-CH button to return to the previous channel.

| Message "Mode not available". | Check maximum resolution and video adapter frequency. Compare with mode data. |
| Digital broadcast screen problem. | Check digital signal strength and antenna input. |
| Image too bright or too dark. | Adjust brightness and contrast. Use fine-tuning. |
| Black bars on screen. | Ensure HD reception. Adjust aspect ratio on cable box or satellite receiver. |
| Image has a red/green or pink tint. | Ensure component cables are connected correctly. If using a cable box or satellite receiver, set it to the Subtitles mode, not the TV. |
| Subtitles mode does not work. | Your cable box's software may need an upgrade. Contact your cable provider. Incompatibility with cable box may be the cause. Connect via component cables. |
| Horizontal bars, flickering, or shimmering image. | Adjust basic and fine-tuning settings. |

| Image not centered. | Adjust horizontal and vertical position. Do not adjust screen position in Digital Signal mode. |
| Residual images or blur after displaying a still image for a long time. | When not in use for extended periods, set to power saving mode or use a screensaver. TFT LCDs have secondary pixels; some bright or dark pixels may exist and do not affect performance. |
