Troubleshooting and error codes

Issues Solutions and Explanations
Poor picture Perform the Picture Test. If the test image is displayed properly, the issue may be with the source or signal. Upgrade to digital set top box, use HDMI or Component cables for HD picture quality. Adjust cable/sat box video output resolution. Consider compression of video contents or low signal level.
The picture is distorted: macroblock error, small block, dots, pixelization. Compression of video contents or low signal level can cause distortion. If using a component connection, ensure correct jack connections.
Color is wrong or missing. If you're using a component connection, make sure the component cables are connected to the correct jacks. Incorrect or loose connections may cause color problems or a blank screen.
There is poor color or brightness. Adjust Picture options (Picture mode/Color/Brightness/Sharpness) and Energy Saving options. Reset the picture to default settings. Change picture size to 16:9 if set to Screen Fit. Change cable/satellite box resolution. For AV composite input, connect the yellow video cable to the Green jack of component input 1. Reset cable box. Set output resolution to 1080i or 720p.
