Power Supply:

  • Operate using 8 "D" size batteries or AC power.
  • When AC power is connected, batteries are automatically disconnected.

General Operation:

  • Adjust sound with VOLUME and TONE controls.
  • Connect stereo headphones to the PHONES jack.

CD Playback:

  • Press FUNCTION to select CD mode.
  • Insert CD with label facing up.
  • Press PLAY/PAUSE to begin.
  • Use STOP/CLEAR to stop.

Radio Operation:

  • Select RADIO function.
  • Choose AM or FM band.
  • Tune to desired station using TUNING.

Cassette Tape Operation:

  • Insert cassette and press PLAY for playback.
  • Use STOP/EJECT to stop or remove cassette.
  • Fast forward and rewind functions are available.

Recording:

  • Record from Radio or CD.
  • Use REC button to start recording.

Maintenance:

  • Clean exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Clean tape heads with isopropyl alcohol.
  • Do not touch the CD player lens.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Abnormal display indication or operating problem Unit malfunction Disconnect mains lead, remove batteries. Wait 5 seconds, reconnect mains lead, reinstall batteries.
CD player not operating Disc loaded upside down or no disc loaded Load disc correctly, or insert a disc.
CD player lid opens while CD playing, may scratch disc Opening lid during playback Press STOP/CLEAR, wait for disc to stop rotating, then open lid.
Poor sound quality, distorted recordings, erratic tape speed Dust or oxide build-up on tape heads, pinch roller, or capstan Clean tape heads, pinch roller, and capstan with isopropyl alcohol or cleaning fluid.
CD player lens dust Dust on lens Blow off dust using a camera lens blower. Consult dealer if needed.
