Making and Receiving Calls

  • To answer: Press any key.
  • To make: Press TALK/END, listen for dial tone, dial number.
  • To hang up: Press TALK/END.
  • To redial: Press TALK/END, then REDIAL.

AutoTalk and Auto Standby

Pick up handset from base to answer (AutoTalk). Return handset to base to hang up (Auto Standby).

Temporary Tone Dialing

Press */TONE to access tone dialing services if your line is pulse dialing.

Storing a Number in Memory

Press MEMORY, enter number (up to 16 digits), press MEMORY again, enter memory location (0-9).

Using Other Features

  • Mute: Press MUTE during a call to turn off microphone.
  • Chain Dialing: Store access code, dial main number, press MEMORY and access code location.
  • Erasing: Press MEMORY twice, enter memory location to clear.
  • Replacing: Store new number in an existing location.
  • Channel Scan: Press SCAN during a call to change channels for clearer reception.
  • Flash: Used for special services like Call Waiting.
  • Page/Find: Press PAGE/FIND on base to locate handset.
  • Out of Range: Clicking sound indicates you are moving too far from the base; call will terminate if range is exceeded.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Suggestion
CHARGE/IN USE won't come on when handset is placed in base. Make sure AC adapter is plugged in. Ensure handset is properly seated. Check battery pack connection. Clean charging contacts. Ensure base antenna is vertical.
Weak and/or scratchy sound Check for interference from other electronics. Move closer to the base. Press SCAN.
Can't make or receive calls. Check telephone line cord. Ensure AC adapter is plugged in. Disconnect and reconnect AC adapter. Reset security code by placing handset on base for a few seconds.
Handset doesn't ring or receive a page. Charge battery pack for 15 hours. Ensure handset is not too far from base. Move base away from appliances/metal objects. Reset security code by placing handset on charging cradle for a few seconds.
