Basic Operations

Power On/Off: Press the POWER button to turn the unit on or off. The unit remembers the last volume setting.

Source Selection: Use the VCR, DVD, or AM/FM buttons on the remote to select the input source. The INPUT button can be used to cycle through external audio/video inputs when in VCR mode.

Volume Adjustment: Use the VOLUME buttons on the remote or the VOLUME control on the front panel. The volume level is displayed on the FL display.

Sound Settings: Press the SOUND button to access sound modes like Bass, Treble, and speaker levels. The BASS BOOST button toggles the bass boost effect.

Surround Mode: Press the SURROUND button to select from various surround sound modes (AUTO, Surr, HALL, LIVE, 2ch) depending on the source and disc content.

Troubleshooting and error codes

TV/VCR mode for DVD/VCR is set to TV.Press [TV/VCR] on the remote control repeatedly to choose VCR mode. "VCR" appears on the FL display.
The video cable is not connected securely.Connect the video cable securely.
The video cable or 75 ohm coaxial cable is not connected.Connect the video cable into the jack. (See page E10.)
Video connection is not correct.Connect the 75 ohm coaxial cable into the jack. (See page E10.)
Note: S-Video/component out does not output the VCR/tuner video signal. They are only for DVD video output.Connect the cord correctly. See "Basic TV Connections" or "Audio/Video Connection" on page E10.
No sound.The connected TV power is turned off.Turn on the TV.

The playback picture is poor.Volume control is set to minimum.Turn up the volume.
