Basic Playback

  • Turn on the power for the TV, Audio System, and AV amplifier.
  • Select the correct video input source on your TV.
  • Insert a disc with the label facing up.
  • Press the [/ON] button to power on the unit.
  • Press the [▲] (or [OPEN/CLOSE]) button to open the disc tray.
  • Place the disc and press [▲] (or [OPEN/CLOSE]) again to close the tray.
  • Press [► PLAY] to start playback.

Stopping Playback

  • Press [■] to stop playback.
  • Press [► PLAY] to resume from the stopped point (DVD).
  • Press [■] twice to stop completely (DVD).
  • Press [■] to stop completely (CD).

Continuing Playback (Last Memo Play for DVD)

  • Press [LAST MEMO] to stop playback.
  • Load the disc and press [► PLAY].
  • Select "Yes" to resume from where you stopped.

Troubleshooting and error codes

No power. No power plug connection at the AC wall outlet. Insert the power plug into the AC wall outlet.
The power is on, but the player does not work. No disc is loaded. Load a disc.
No picture. An unplayable disc is loaded. Load a playable disc. (Check the disc logo, type, color system and regional code. See page E14.)
No sound. The TV is not set to receive signal from the player. Select the correct input function on the TV.
The playback picture is poor. An unplayable disc is loaded. Load a playable disc. (Check the disc logo, type, color system and regional code. See page E14.)
"*" appears on the TV screen. The selected function does not operate on the disc now. The feature or action cannot be completed at this time because: The feature is not available at the moment. The DVD software restricts it. The DVD software doesn't support the feature (e.g. angles).
The unit does not start playback. No disc is loaded. Load a disc.
"No Play" appears on the TV screen. An unplayable disc is loaded. Load a playable disc. (Check the disc logo, type, color system and regional code. See page E14.)
The disc tray does not open. The disc tray may be locked. Press the [▲] button on the unit until "Un-LOC" appears. (See page E16.)
The FL display on the unit is dark. The display is set to "Dark". Reset it to "Normal". (See page E32.)
