Warranty Information

This warranty is valid for Wal-Mart purchased Sanyo products in the US and Puerto Rico, covering defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year for parts and 90 days for labor.

  • Preparations: Turn on the unit and connected devices. Select the correct video input on your TV. Ensure correct aspect ratio settings.
  • Basic Playback: Insert disc. Press the power button to turn on the unit. Open the disc tray, place disc label-side up, and close the tray. Press PLAY to begin playback.
  • Stopping Playback: Press STOP once for resume playback, or twice to stop completely.
  • Selecting Menus: Use MENU or TOP MENU buttons to navigate disc menus.
  • Skipping: Use NEXT/PREV buttons to skip chapters or tracks.
  • Searching: Use SEARCH MODE for title/chapter or time search.
  • Playback Modes: Fast Playback (FWD/REV), Slow Motion (SLOW), Still Picture (PAUSE/STEP), Frame-by-Frame Advance.
  • Picture Zoom & Angle: Use ZOOM and ANGLE buttons for enhanced viewing.
  • Repeat Playback: Use REPEAT for chapter, title, or track repetition. Use A-B Repeat for specific sections.
  • TVGuardian®: Filter offensive language based on selected settings (DAMN/HELL, RELIGIOUS, SEXUAL REFERENCE).
  • MP3/JPEG/Picture CD: Play audio and image files. Navigate folders and files.
  • Initial Settings: Configure language, display, digital output, and parental controls.

Troubleshooting and error codes

SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION
No power. No power plug connection at the AC wall outlet. Insert the power plug into the AC wall outlet.
The power is on, but the player does not work. No disc is loaded. Load a disc.
An unplayable disc is loaded. Load a playable disc. (Check the disc logo, type, color system and region number. See page E14.)
The TV is not set to receive signal from the player. Select the correct input function on the TV.
No picture. The video cable is not connected. Connect the video cable into the jack.
The S-video cable is not connected. Connect the video cable into the jack.
"PROGRESSIVE" mode is set. Select "INTERLACE" mode. (See page E15.)
No sound. The TV is turned off. Turn on the TV.
The audio cables are not connected. Connect the audio cables into the jacks.
The audio equipment is turned off. Turn on the audio equipment connected with the audio cable.
The playback picture is poor. An unplayable disc is loaded. Load a playable disc. (Check the disc logo, type, color system and region number. See page E14.)
“�” appears on the TV screen. The selected function does not operate on the disc now. The feature or action cannot be completed at this time because:
  • The feature is not available at the moment.
  • The DVD software restricts it.
  • The DVD software doesn't support the feature (e.g., angles).
The unit does not start playback. No disc is loaded. Load a disc.
"NO PLAY" appears on the TV screen. An unplayable disc is loaded. Load a playable disc. (Check the disc logo, type, color system and region number. See page E14.)
The disc is loaded with the label side down. Load the disc on the disc tray correctly.
The disc is dirty. Clean the disc or replace it. (See page E14.)
"PARENTAL" is set. Cancel the parental lock function or change the rating level. Reset it after play. (See page E34.)
"NO PLAY" appears on the TV screen. An unplayable disc is loaded. Load a playable disc. (Check the disc logo, type, color system and region number. See page E14.)
