GETTING STARTED
Power Source: Connect the AC power lead to the AC power input socket, then connect the plug to an AC socket. For battery power, disconnect the AC lead, lay the unit face down, and remove the battery compartment cover. Insert 8 "D" size batteries.
PLAYING CDs
1. Set the FUNCTION switch to CD.
2. Press the desired DISC NUMBER button (1-5).
3. Press PLAY/REPEAT to begin playback.
RECORDING
From CD: Set FUNCTION to CD, load disc, load cassette into TAPE 2, press RECORD, then press PLAY/REPEAT on CD.
From Radio: Tune desired station, load cassette into TAPE 2, press PAUSE, then press RECORD.
TAPE OPERATIONS
Playback: Set FUNCTION to TAPE, load cassette, set TAPE1-2(PB) switch, press PLAY.
Continuous Playback: Load cassettes into both TAPE 1 and TAPE 2, press PLAY for TAPE 1, PAUSE for TAPE 2, then PLAY for TAPE 2.
DUBBING
Set FUNCTION to TAPE, load prerecorded tape into TAPE 1 and blank tape into TAPE 2. Set DUBBING SPEED, press PAUSE for TAPE 2, press RECORD, then press PLAY for TAPE 1.
Troubleshooting and error codes
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
| If "Error" appears in the display while the disc holder is moving or while the CD mechanism is going up or down. | (1) The batteries are exhausted. | Replace all of the batteries with new ones or power the unit with AC power. |
| (2) Discs may be jammed inside the unit. | Load the CD properly. | |
| If the disc holder moves slowly or it stops in the middle of the movement. | The batteries are exhausted. | Set the FUNCTION switch to POWER STAND-BY, and replace all of the batteries with new ones or power the unit with AC power. |
