Charging the Battery Pack

Connect the power cord to the AC adapter/charger and a power outlet. The POWER indicator will light up. Align the battery pack with the charger and slide it in until it locks. The CHARGE indicator lights up. When fully charged, the CHARGE indicator turns off. Remove the battery pack by sliding it in the direction of the arrow.

Attaching the Battery Pack

Ensure the Power switch is OFF. Align the mark on the battery pack with the mark on the camcorder and slide it in until it locks.

Inserting a Cassette

Open the cassette compartment door. Insert a commercially available cassette with the window facing outwards and the erasure protect tab upwards. Press the PUSH/押す mark until the holder clicks. Wait for it to retract, then close the compartment door.

Inserting a Card

Ensure the Power switch is OFF. Open the card slot cover. Insert a card into the slot as shown and push it in as far as it will go. Close the card slot cover.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Automatically zooms out without operating Zoom control. Occurs when shooting subject with strong contrast to the background. Does not indicate a malfunction. Direct lens to some subject, or set zoom to widest angle before shooting (p. 21).
Display automatically changes in TAPE-CAMERA mode. Camcorder is in Demo mode. Set DEMO MODE menu item to "OFF" (p. 92).
No image appears on connected TV screen. Video input channel on TV or TV channel is not selected properly. Select video input channel or TV channel properly (p. 25).
