The limited warranty covers one year for parts and ninety days for labor, with specific exceptions for rechargeable batteries and disk media.
Charging the Battery Pack: Connect the AC adapter and plug it into an outlet. Align the battery pack with the charger and slide it until it locks.
Attaching the Battery Pack: Ensure the power switch is OFF. Lift the viewfinder. Align the battery pack with the camcorder and slide it down until it locks.
Turning the Power on/off: Use the Media Selection switch and Power switch (CAMERA for recording, VCR for playback). Turn off by setting the Power switch to OFF.
Inserting Media: For Mini DV cassettes, open the compartment door and insert the cassette. For SmartMedia cards, open the LCD monitor, open the card slot cover, and insert the card.
Recording: Select TAPE or CARD mode, set the power to CAMERA, and press REC START/STOP or STILL.
Playback: Select TAPE or CARD mode, set the power to VCR, and use the operation buttons for playback control.
