BEFORE USING THE MACHINE

Part Names and Functions

Familiarize yourself with the various parts of the machine:

  • Job separator (upper tray): For receiving faxes and printed papers.
  • Output tray: For delivering output.
  • Automatic document feeder (ADF): For automatic scanning of multiple originals.
  • USB port (A type): For connecting USB devices.

Turning On/Off the Power

Operate two switches: the main power switch and the [Power] button.

  • Restarting: Turn off using [Power] button, then turn on again.

Operation Panel

The operation panel features:

Placing Originals

Use the automatic document feeder (ADF) for multiple originals or the document glass for books/thick documents.

  • ADF: Place originals face up, align edges evenly.
  • Document glass: Place original face down, align top left corner.

Adjusting the Volume

Adjust sound volume via [Settings] > [System Settings]. Options include beep sounds for scanning, fax, Internet fax, and key touch sounds.

Loading Paper

Trays 1-4 are used for standard paper loading. The bypass tray and Tray 5 are for special paper or larger capacity.

  • Trays 1-4: Pull out tray, adjust guides, insert paper print side up, push tray back.
  • Bypass tray: Open tray, insert paper print side down, adjust guides.

Scanner Mode

Offers Easy Mode (frequent functions) and Normal Mode (detailed settings).

  • Easy Mode: Select size, address, function. Use keys for scanning, previewing, etc.
  • Normal Mode: More detailed options for scanning, sending.

Document Filing

Store documents on the hard drive for later use.

  • Quick File: Easy copy/send and store.
  • File: Copy/send and store with user/file name.
  • Scan to HDD: Store document without printing/transmission.

Printing a Saved File

Retrieve and print files from the main folder or USB memory.

  • Access [HDD File retrieve] mode.
  • Select the file (e.g., "Copy_20201010_112030").
  • Tap [Print Now].

Setting Mode

Adjust machine operations for workplace needs.

  • Access via [Home Screen] > [Settings].
  • Configure various settings like date, fax/scan destinations, document filing folders, etc.
