Different types of caution statements include: CAUTION-POTENTIAL INJURY: Risk of injury. CAUTION-SHOCK HAZARD: Risk of electrical shock. CAUTION-HOT SURFACE: Risk of burn. CAUTION-TIPPING HAZARD: Crush hazard. CAUTION-PINCH HAZARD: Risk of being caught between moving parts.

Product Statements

• CAUTION-POTENTIAL INJURY: Connect power cord to a properly rated and grounded outlet.
• Use only the provided power cord or manufacturer's authorized replacement.
• Do not use with extension cords, multioutlet power strips, or UPS devices.
• Do not use with an inline surge protector.
• Use a 26 AWG or larger telecommunications (RJ-11) cord for phone connections.
• CAUTION-SHOCK HAZARD: Do not place or use near water or wet locations.
• Do not connect during a lightning storm.

Learn About the Printer

Printer configurations: Options include a 650-sheet duo tray, or a combination of 650-sheet duo and 550-sheet trays, or up to three 550-sheet trays.

Using the control panel:

• Power button: Turn on/off, set to Sleep mode, wake from Sleep/Hibernate.
• Display: View messages, supply status, set up and operate.
• Indicator light: Shows printer status (Off, Solid blue, Blinking blue, Blinking red, Solid amber, Blinking amber).

Selecting paper:

• Use appropriate, new, undamaged paper.
• Know the printable side.
• Do not use hand-trimmed paper.
• Do not mix sizes, types, or weights in the same tray.
• Do not use coated papers unless designed for electrophotographic printing.
