The Sharp SX™ is a packaging machine controlled by a PLC. It uses a touchscreen for operator input and controls stepper drive motors for precise mechanical system movement. It dispenses pre-opened bags, inflates them with air, and then product is loaded. The operator initiates the sealing cycle, after which the pressure jaw grips, the impulse sealer seals, and the rollers reverse to separate bags at the perforation. A printer option adds functionality for labeling. The machine has various sensors and safety features to ensure proper operation and alert the operator to faults.
Troubleshooting and error codes
