Controls & Terminals

Front: Main power ON/OFF switch, power indicator, program selector (UP/DOWN), volume buttons (UP/DOWN), remote control sensor.

Remote Control Transmitter

Power & Timer: Power ON/OFF, OFF/Timer, On-Timer.

Picture & Text: Picture, Text/Mix, Index, Hold.

Color: Color buttons (cyan, yellow, green, red).

Channel & Volume: TV/VIDEO selector, Channel/Timer, Channel Up/Down, Volume adjustment.

Mode Select: Contrast, Colour, Brightness, Picture Tone adjustment buttons.

Other: Preset, Sound mute, Skip, Entry selector, Reveal, Cancel, Half page, Clock.

Operation

Power & Indicator: Main power ON/OFF starts or puts TV in standby. LED indicator shows status (red: standby, green: on, orange: on-timer set).

Volume: Adjust using buttons on set or remote. Level shown on screen.

Channel Selection: Use UP/DOWN buttons or direct number entry (0-9). Special channel "VCR" for VCR tuning.

Tuning: Full Auto Search Tuning presets all channels. Manual Channel Preset allows individual tuning. Fine tuning available.

Skipping Channels: Set channels to skip, indicated by red channel number. Resetting skips turns channel number green.

Picture Adjustments: Use MODE button to select Contrast, Colour, Brightness, Picture Tone, then adjust with UP/DOWN buttons.

VCR Tuning: Tune VCR through antenna terminal in VCR channel using Manual Channel Preset.

On/Off Timer: Set desired on or off time. Indicator light shows status.

Sound Mute: Mutes sound, indicated by " icon. Press again to restore.

Flashback: Return to previously watched channel.

TV/Video Selector: Switches between broadcast TV and AV inputs (SCART indicator).

Clock: Displays current time if station broadcasts teletext signal.

Teletext

Basic Operation: Select teletext channel, press TEXT/MIX, enter page number (0-9 digits or V/A buttons).

Page Selection: Use colour keys (RED/GREEN for sports/news), LIST button, or 0-9 digits.

Page Memory: Store up to 4 teletext pages per channel position for fast recall.

Fast Page Selection: Recall pages using coloured brackets.

Other Features

TEXT/MIX: Enter/exit teletext, superimpose teletext on TV screen.

Half Page: Magnifies upper/lower half of teletext page.

Hold: Freeze teletext page.

Reveal: Show/hide hidden information (e.g., quiz answers).

Clock: Display current time on teletext page.

Cancel: Exit teletext, restore TV picture.

Index: Go to index page (Page 100).

Before Calling for Service

Check power plug, brightness, antenna connection, and installation location for noise sources.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Check point
No sound • Check that the power plug is fully plugged into the electric outlet.
No picture • Check that the brightness control has not been completely turned down.
Excessive noise in picture Bad picture • Check that the antenna wire is not disconnected or short-circuited.
Ghosting • Ghosting is due to waves reflected from mountains, large buildings or trees located nearby. Therefore, try to change the direction or height of the antenna.
Spotted picture • Check if the set is receiving noise produced by motor cars, tramcars or neon signs. Install your antenna as far as possible from roads or neon signs.
Striped picture • A striped picture is due to interference by other stations or neighboring television sets. The interference can be reduced to some extent by adjusting the direction or height of the antenna. (If a twinlead antenna cable is used, replace it with a coaxial cable.)
