Improper use invalidates the warranty!

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Possible Corrective Measures
Unable to switch on phone Empty battery. Battery contacts dirty. Charge battery. Check charging indication on display. Clean contacts carefully. Repeat switching on and off.
No charge icon Battery deeply discharged. Battery defective. Continue to charge device. The charge icon appears after max. 2 hours. Replace battery. After several years' average use a gradual decline may be expected.
Charge icon is flashing Contact problem. Temperature exceeds 0 °C to + 45 °C range. Check power supply and connection to telephone. Ensure correct temperature, allow time, then recharge.
SIM error SIM contacts dirty. Damaged SIM card. SIM card not correctly orientated. Old SIM card. Clean SIM contacts with a dry cloth. Make visual check. Return SIM card to your service provider. Ensure SIM is correctly orientated. Only 3 volt SIM cards may be used. If you are using a 5 volt SIM card, please contact your service provider.
PIN error 3 incorrect inputs. Enter super PIN (PUK) supplied with your SIM as instructed. If your super PIN or PIN are lost, contact your service provider.
No connection to network Weak signal. Outside GSM network. SIM not valid. New network not authorized. Move to a higher location, or to a window or open space. Check service provider coverage map. Check network information for the device. Contact your service provider. Try selecting manually, or try other network (p. 30).
Phone loses network Weak signal. Reconnection, or connection to another service provider is automatic; AutoNetwork (→ p. 30). Switching off and on may accelerate this.
Calls not possible Dialling error. New SIM fitted. Charge limit reached. Check the telephone number (correct international and area code). Check for new restrictions. Contact your network provider.
Cannot write in PhoneBook Call restriction set. PhoneBook is full. Check PhoneBook restrictions. Delete PhoneBook entries.
Cannot find PhoneBook SIM has been changed. Refit original SIM.
Voice Mail not working Divert not set. Set Divert (→ p. 21).
flashes continuously Message store full. Delete a message to make room (p. 18).
Cannot send a message Service provider does not support this service. Service Centre not configured. Destination does not have compatible phone. Contact your service provider. Configure Service Centre (→ p. 19). Check.
Cannot set a function Not supported by service provider or registration required. Contact service provider (→ p. 38).
Network provider CODE error Not authorized for this service. Contact network provider.
Accidents
Severe impact damage Internal damage could result. Remove and refit battery and SIM card (→ p. 6). Do not dismantle phone.
Immersion in water Internal damage could result. Remove battery and SIM. Dry immediately with a cloth, do not heat. Dry connector contacts thoroughly. Stand unit upright in airstream. Do not dismantle phone.
