Basic Operation

1. Select a programme: Turn the programme selector to switch the machine on/off and choose the desired wash cycle. It can be turned in both directions and cannot be turned while a programme is running.

2. Control lights: Lights indicate when a programme is selected ('On'), active ('Active'), or finished ('End'). Flashing lights indicate a fault.

3. Set spin speed: Adjust the spin speed using the selector, ensuring it clicks into place at the desired setting.

4. Additional functions: Press buttons to add functions like shortened duration, extra rinse, or crease reduction. Press again to cancel.

5. Start the wash: Press the start button to begin the selected programme.

Before First Use

Run a test cycle without laundry. Turn on the water tap, add about 1 litre of water and detergent to compartment II, select the '90 °C Cottons/coloureds' programme, press start, and then turn the selector to 'Off' when finished.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Fault Cause Action
Lid cannot be opened. "Ø" selected.
Safety function active.
Select "Pumping" or "Spin G" or set programme selector to "Off".
Wait 2 minutes.
Detergent is not dispensed from dispenser I. Programme without prewash selected. Select "Cottons/colourds 60 °C + Prewash".
Detergent residue in the detergent dispensers. Damp or lumpy detergent.
Insert for liquid detergent pressed down.
Dry detergent dispensers before filling with detergent.
Use the dispensing aid for liquid detergent.
Reposition the insert for washing powder.
Indicator lights do not illuminate. Fuse tripped. Switch on/replace fuse.
Programme does not start. "On" indicator light flashes. Plug loose or not plugged in.
Appliance lid not closed.
If the fault occurs repeatedly, call customer service.
Close the lid ("clicks" shut).
Programme does not start. "On", "Active" and "End" indicator lights flash. Drum lid not closed. Close the lid.
Programme does not start. "Ø" button not pressed. - Press the "Ø" button.
Water does not flow in or detergent is not dispensed. "Active" indicator lights flashes. Tap not turned on.
Inlet hose bent or pinched.
Filters in water inlet blocked.
Turn on the tap.
Clean the filters; see Page 32.
Water is not completely drained. "End" indicator light flashes. Foreign objects blocking the pump.
High-fluff garments were washed.
Drainage hose bent. Drainage pipe or drainage hose blocked.
Clean the pump; see Page 30.
Clean the drainage pipe and/or drainage hose, see Page 30.
Water runs out from under the appliance. Screw-fitting of inlet hose leaking.
Drainage hose leaking.
Tighten the screw-fitting.
Replace the drainage hose.
Foam comes out. Too much detergent. Switch off the appliance. Mix 1 tablespoon of fabric softener with 1/2 litre of water and add to dispenser II. Switch on the appliance again. Reduce detergent dosing for the next wash cycle.
Motor noise Not a fault. Noises may be generated during the running-in phase of the drive motor. -
Pump noise Not a fault. Noises generated when the pump starts up or draws air are normal. -
"Lid" button cannot be pressed. Programme not ended or "Ø" selected. When the water has been drained and the programme has ended, the appliance lid can be opened after approx. 2 minutes.
Vibrations during wash and spin cycles Transit bolts not removed
Appliance feet not secured.
Appliance standing on rollers.
Remove the transit bolts; see installation instructions.
Secure the appliance feet.
Swivel the lever from left to right.
Repeated spinning Not a fault. Unbalanced load detection system attempts to remove an imbalance by repeatedly spinning the washing. -
Programme runs for longer than usual. Not a fault. Unbalanced load detection system attempts to remove an imbalance by repeatedly distributing the washing.
Foam detection function has implemented an additional rinse cycle to dissolve the foam.
Wash large and small items of washing together to reduce the imbalance.
Adjust detergent dosing for the next wash cycle.
Washing result not satisfactory. Soiling is greater than assumed.
Insufficient detergent dispensed.
Select suitable programme.
Dispense detergent according to the manufacturer's specifications.
Detergent residue on washing. Some phosphate-free detergents contain water-insoluble residue which may appear as light stains on the washing. Select "Rinsing" immediately or Brush the washing after the drying cycle.
Grey residue on washing. Soiling caused by ointments, greases or oils. Select maximum detergent dosing and maximum permitted temperature for the next wash cycle.
