Warranty Information

This appliance comes with a 3-year warranty for material and manufacturing defects, excluding wear and tear or damage.

  • Basic Operation: To operate the DVD player, insert a disc, connect to a TV, and use the remote control. Use the OSD Menu for initial settings like language, TV standard, and video output. Playback controls include play, pause, stop, skip, and search functions. The player supports various media formats including DVDs, VCDs, Audio CDs, MP3s, and JPEGs via discs, memory cards, or USB sticks.
  • Connections: Connect to TV via Scart, S-Video, Composite Video, VGA, or HDMI. Audio can be connected to HiFi systems or digital/analog components.
  • Settings: Use the OSD Menu to configure language, video, audio, rating, and miscellaneous settings. Features like programmed play, repeat play, and bookmarking are available for discs.
  • Troubleshooting: Basic troubleshooting steps are provided for common issues like no display, no disc recognized, no sound, or remote control malfunction.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
The display is blank/DVD player does not function, even though it was switched on
A Check whether the power cord is properly plugged into the socket.
B Check whether the socket into which you have plugged the power cord of the DVD player is supplying electricity by plugging in another device. Where appropriate plug the DVD players power cable into another power socket.
C Check to see that the display dimmer function is switched off. For this purpose press the button "Dimmer" on the remote control.
D Switch the DVD player off by pressing the ON/OFF button and then wait ten seconds. Switch the DVD player on again by pressing the ON/OFF button once more.
The display indicates "No Disc", even though a disc was inserted
A The disc is dirty, scratched or damaged. Clean the disc or insert a different disc.
B The Country/Regional code of the inserted DVD/VCD/S-VCD does not coincide with the Country/Regional code of the DVD player. In this case, the DVD/VCD/S-VCD cannot be played with the DVD player.
Inserted disc is not played
A A film of condensation may have formed on the laser sensor lens of the DVD player. In particular, this may occur if the DVD player has been subjected to large temperature fluctuations. In this case, place the DVD player in a dry environment at normal room temperature. First remove any inserted disc from the disc tray. Then leave the DVD player switched off for at least one hour without using it until the condensation film has evaporated.
No image or only black and white image
A Check to see that all connection cables between the DVD player and television (or Video projector) are plugged firmly into the corresponding sockets.
B Check whether the settings in the OSD menu match the connection option you have used to connect the DVD player to the television (or the video projector). For this refer to chapter 6 "Connection of the DVD player to a television".
C Using the television's (or Video projector's) instruction manual check to see if current settings to the television (or Video projector) are necessary in order to use the DVD player with the television.
No sound
A Check to see if the television and/or DVD player are currently switched to mute.
B Check to see if all connections cables between the DVD player and currently connected audio components are firmly plugged into the corresponding sockets.
C Check whether the settings in the OSD menu match the connection option you have used to connect the audio components to the DVD player. For this refer to chapter 7 "Connecting Audio components to the DVD player.
D Using the television's instruction manual check to see if current settings to the television are necessary in order to use the DVD player with the television.
E Using the instructions manual of a currently connected audio component check to see if settings to the component are necessary in order to use it with the DVD player.
F If you ... → have connected the DVD player to a stereo television and have not connected an audio component to the DVD player or → have connected a Dolby Prologic compatible audio component via the analogue stereo outlet (via cinch cables to the cinch sockets L and R) of the DVD player: Check to see if you have selected the option Large in the OSD Menu under the Sub menu option Front LS.
No 4:3 or 16:9 image
A Consult the operating manual of the television to determine which image format the television supports.
B Check whether the settings in the OSD menu match the available image format of the television.
Remote control does not function
A Check to see that the remote control batteries are inserted into the battery compartment according to the correct polarity.
B Check whether the batteries in the remote control are dead and replace both batteries, if necessary.
C Make sure that there are no obstructions between the remote control and the DVD player. When using the remote control position yourself not more than five metres from the DVD player.
Playback language / subtitle language does not match the settings in the OSD menu
- The playback language / subtitle language configured in the OSD menu is not available on the inserted disc.
One or more functions cannot be activated
- The selected function may not be available for all DVDs/VCDs/S-VCDs. If you attempt to execute a function that is not available, the symbol is displayed on the television screen.
None of the buttons on the device or on the remote control function / other malfunctions
A Switch the DVD player off by pressing the ON/OFF button. Wait ten seconds and then press the ON/OFF button again to switch on the DVD player once more.
B If the problem still persists: Set the DVD player back to its default settings. For this refer to chapter 8.6 "Misc settings". Contact one of our service partners in your area if the indicated malfunction cannot be resolved as described or → something other than the indicated malfunction occurs For this refer to chapter 16 "Important Warranty notes".
