Playing a CD:

  1. Connect the AC power adaptor to the unit and an AC outlet.
  2. Press OPEN to open the lid.
  3. Place a CD with the label side up.
  4. Close the lid.
  5. Press ▶▶ to play.
  6. Adjust the volume using the VOLUME control.
  7. Press ■ to stop play.

Selecting Play Modes: Press MENU during play to cycle through Normal play, Repeat all tracks, Single track play, Repeat single track, and Repeat shuffle play.

Using ESP MAX (Skip Protection): Set ESP to "ON" to maximize skip protection. The ESP indication will appear.

Using Digital MEGA BASS: Press SOUND to select "BASS ■" or "BASS ■ ■" for enhanced bass sound.

Locking Buttons: Slide HOLD to lock buttons, preventing accidental operation. Slide HOLD in the opposite direction to unlock.

AVLS (Hearing Protection): Hold down SOUND until "AVLS" appears to limit maximum volume.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
The CD does not play or "no di 5C" appears in the display though a CD is placed in the CD player.
  • The buttons are locked. Slide HOLD back.
  • The CD is dirty or defective.
  • Insert the CD with the label side up.
  • Moisture condensation has occurred. Leave the CD player aside for several hours until the moisture evaporates.
  • Close the lid of the CD player and the battery compartment firmly.
  • Make sure the batteries are inserted correctly.
  • Connect the AC power adaptor to a wall outlet securely.
  • The CD-R/CD-RW was not finalized. Finalize the CD-R/CD-RW with the recording device.
  • There is a problem with the quality of the CD-R/CD-RW, recording device, or application software.
"00" appears in the display for a moment, and disappears. The CD does not play. Dry batteries are used up. Replace them with new LR6 (size AA) alkaline batteries.
No sound, or noise is heard.
  • Connect the plugs firmly.
  • Plugs are dirty. Clean the plugs with a dry soft cloth periodically.
"HI dein" appears in the display.
  • Use only the supplied AC power adaptor or AC power adaptor AC-E45HG (not supplied).
  • Remove all power sources, then insert the batteries or connect the AC power adaptor again.
"Hol d" appears in the display when you press a button. The buttons are locked. Slide HOLD back.
The ■ indication appears in the display when you press a button. Dry batteries are used up. Replace them with new LR6 (size AA) alkaline batteries.
The battery life is short.
  • Manganese batteries are used. Use alkaline batteries.
  • Replace the batteries with new ones.
The rechageable batteries cannot be charged in the battery compartment of this CD player. This CD player does not have the function to charge the rechargeable batteries.
The volume is limited to a certain level even if you attempt to turn it up. AVLS function keeps down the volume. Hold down SOUND until “AVLS” disappears from the display.
Playback starts from the point you stopped. (resume function) The resume function is working. To start playing from the first track, press ▶▶ for 2 seconds or more, or open the lid of the CD player. Or remove all power sources, then insert the batteries or connect the AC power adaptor again.
When closing the lid of the CD player, the CD starts to rotate. The CD player is reading the information on the CD. It is not malfunctioning.
