Canceling the Demo mode

  • Press and hold the multi-way encoder to access setup.
  • Select "Demo" and then "off".
  • Hold the multi-way encoder again to confirm.

Preparing the card remote commander

  • Remove the insulation film.

Setting the clock

  • Press and hold the multi-way encoder to access setup.
  • Select "Clock Adjust" and press.
  • Rotate the encoder to set the hour and minute.
  • Push the encoder left/right to move the digital indication.
  • Press the encoder to confirm.

Detaching the front panel

  • Press and hold SOURCE/OFF to turn off the unit.
  • Press OPEN.
  • Flip the front panel down.
  • Slide the panel to the right, then pull out the left end.

Attaching the front panel

  • Place the hole on the front panel onto the spindle on the unit.
  • Lightly push the left side in.
  • Press SOURCE/OFF to operate.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
The unit does not receive power. Check the connection or the fuse. If the unit is off and the display is blank, it cannot be operated with the remote control. Turn the unit on.
The motorized antenna does not extend. The motorized antenna does not have a relay box.
No sound is emitted. The ATT function is activated or the ATT function of the phone (when connecting an interface cable for a car phone to the ATT cable) is activated. The balance control is not adjusted for a 2-speaker system.
Memory contents were erased. The RESET button was pressed. Re-enter data into memory. The power source or battery cable was disconnected or not connected correctly.
Stored stations and correct time were erased. The fuse has blown.
Noise is heard when changing the ignition key position. Cables are not connected correctly to the auxiliary power connector of the car.
Demo mode starts during playback or reception. No operation for 5 minutes and "Demo on" setting. Adjust "Demo off" (page 46).
Display indications disappear or do not appear. Attenuator is set to "Dimmer on" (page 47). The display turns off if SOURCE/OFF is held down. Press SOURCE/OFF on the unit until the display lights up. Connectors are dirty (page 50).
Auto-off function does not work. The unit is on. The auto-off function activates after turning off the unit. Turn off the unit.
Cannot receive stations. Noisy reception. Incorrect connection. Connect the motorized antenna control wire (blue) or auxiliary power supply cable (red) to the antenna signal amplifier cable of the car antenna. Check car antenna connection. If the motorized antenna does not extend, check the motorized antenna control wire connection.
Cannot use programmed tuning. Store the correct frequency in memory. Broadcast signal is too weak.
Cannot use auto-tuning. Local seek mode setting is incorrect. Adjust "Local on" (page 47). Tuning stops too frequently. Adjust "Local off" (page 47). Tuning does not stop at a station. Broadcast signal is too weak. Use manual tuning.
"ST" blinks during FM reception. Tune to the frequency accurately. Broadcast signal is too weak. Adjust "Mono on" (page 47).
FM broadcast in stereo is heard in monoaural. The unit is in monoaural reception mode. Adjust "Mono off" (page 47).
Cannot reproduce elements via a USB hub. This unit cannot recognize USB devices via a USB hub.
Cannot reproduce elements. USB device not functioning. Reconnect it. USB device takes time to reproduce. USB device contains files with a complex directory structure.
Screen elements do not scroll. A large number of characters may not scroll. "Auto Scroll" is set to "off". Adjust "Auto Scroll on" (page 47). Press and hold DSPL (SCRL).
Sound is discontinuous. Discontinuity may be due to a high bit rate of over 320 kbps.
Cannot connect to Pandora. Turn Pandora off on the mobile device and restart it.
Bluetooth connection device cannot detect this unit. Set this unit to pairing standby mode before pairing. While connecting to another Bluetooth device, this unit cannot be detected by other devices. Disconnect the current connection and search for this unit from another device. Activate Bluetooth signal output (page 35) after device pairing.
Cannot make a connection. Check pairing and connection procedures in the other device's manual and repeat.
Detected device name does not appear. Depending on the other device, the name may not be obtainable.
No ringtone is emitted. Adjust volume to "Ring Volume". Depending on the connected device, the ringtone may not be emitted correctly. Adjust "Ringtone" to "Default" (page 37).
Volume of the speaker's voice is low. Adjust volume to "Talk Volume".
The other party in a call notifies that the volume is too low or too high. Adjust volume using MIC Gain (page 37) as appropriate.
Echoes or noise during phone conversations. Lower the volume. Adjust "EC/NC Mode" to "EC/NC Mode 1" or "EC/NC Mode 2" (page 37). Reduce ambient noise. Close the window if street noise is excessive. Lower the air conditioner if it is too high.
Phone is not connected. During Bluetooth audio playback, the phone is not connected even when the multi-way encoder is pressed. Connect from the phone.
Low sound quality of the phone. Phone sound quality depends on cellular phone reception. Move the car to a location where the cellular phone signal can be improved if reception is poor.
Connected audio device volume is low (high). Volume level will change depending on the audio device. Adjust the audio device or this unit's volume.
No sound from the connected Bluetooth audio device. Audio device is paused. Cancel audio device pause.
Sound is skipped during playback of a Bluetooth audio device. Reduce the distance between the unit and the Bluetooth audio device. Remove the audio device from its case if it obstructs the signal. Turn off other devices emitting radio waves nearby. Reduce distance between the unit and other devices. Sound playback momentarily stops while the connection between this unit and the cellular phone is established. This is not a malfunction.
Cannot control the connected Bluetooth audio device. Check if the connected Bluetooth audio device supports AVRCP.
Some functions are unavailable. Check if the connected device supports the functions in question.
The other party's name does not appear when receiving a call. The caller's number and name are not stored in the phonebook. Store this data in the phonebook (page 38). The phone being called is set not to display the phone number. The connected phone is set to auto-answer calls. "Auto Answer" on this unit is set to "Short" or "Long" (page 37).
A call is answered accidentally. The connected phone is set to auto-answer calls. "Auto Answer" on this unit is set to "Short" or "Long" (page 37).
Pairing failed due to time limit exceeded. Depending on the connected device, the pairing time may be short. Try completing pairing within the time limit.
Cannot use Bluetooth function. Press and hold SOURCE/OFF for 2 seconds to turn off the unit, then turn it back on.
No sound from car speakers during hands-free calls. If output sound comes from the cellular phone, set the phone to emit sound through the car speakers.
Cannot connect to Pandora. Turn Pandora off on the mobile device and restart it.
Error messages: Busy now... Please try later: Unit is busy. Wait and try again. Checking: Unit is confirming USB device connection. Wait for confirmation. Connection Failed: Phonebook access from cellular phone finished. Access phonebook again. Device Inside: Appears if the ignition key is turned OFF without removing the USB device or iPod. Empty: Call history or phonebook is empty. Error: USB device not recognized automatically. Reconnect it. Phonebook content modified during cellular phone access. Access phonebook again. Failure (Speaker/amplifier connection incorrect): Consult installation manual. Failure (SAT tuner connection error): Ensure the desired radio station is received and try again. HF Device is not available: No cellular phone connected. Connect a cellular phone. Hubs Not Supported: USB hub is not compatible. Invalid channel file: Music file edited without using "Content Transfer". Re-adjust "SensMe™ Setup" for USB device or Walkman. Consult page 23 for more info. Local Seek +/-: Local seek mode activated during auto-tuning.
