Getting Started

  • Charging: Charge the Xperia Ear Duo using the provided USB Type-C cable. The main units automatically turn off when placed in the charging case.
  • Turning On/Off: Remove from charging case to turn on. Place in charging case to turn off. Touch and hold touchpad to turn on if off and not in case.
  • Pairing: Install the Xperia Ear Duo app and pair with your Android or iOS device via Bluetooth.

Using Your Xperia Ear Duo

  • Touchpad: Use tapping, touching and holding, or sliding gestures for various functions.
  • Head Gestures: Enable in the app to answer/decline calls, skip music tracks, or respond to the Assistant with head movements.
  • Calling: Tap to answer, touch and hold to end/reject calls. Double-tap to mute/unmute.
  • Listening to Music: Tap to play/pause, double-tap to skip next, triple-tap to skip previous.
  • Volume Control: Slide up or down on the touchpad.
  • Voice Control: Touch and hold touchpad (R) to activate.
  • Anytime Talk: Use for instant voice chat with up to four users (beta version).

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Possible Cause Solution
Main units turn off automatically Main units are not in the charging case and disconnected from the paired device or too far away. Turn on by touching and holding the touchpad. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on the paired device.
Touchpad does not respond Proximity sensor is covered or dirty. Clean the proximity sensor. Ensure no hair is caught between the sensor and your ear.
Cannot pair with device Bluetooth is not enabled on the device, or the device is too far away. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled. Bring the main units and device closer. Restart both devices.
No sound or low volume Volume is set too low or muted. Adjust volume using touchpad. Check volume settings on the paired device.
Anytime Talk not working Unstable internet connection or incorrect setup. Ensure a stable internet connection (4G recommended). Re-check Anytime Talk setup in the host app. Ensure all participants have the Xperia Ear Duo app and are set up correctly.
