Getting Started: Before operating, charge the battery pack (p. 6-7). Insert a cassette (p. 10).

Basic Operations:

  • Camera Recording: Set POWER to CAMERA, turn STANDBY up, press START/STOP (p. 11).
  • Zooming: Use the power zoom lever (p. 13).
  • START/STOP Modes: Select from standard, ANTI GROUND SHOOTING, or 5SEC (p. 14).
  • LCD Screen Use: Open LCD panel, adjust angle. Battery life is longer with viewfinder (p. 15).
  • Mirror Mode: Flip LCD panel for subject to view shot (p. 16).
  • Better Shooting: Hold firmly with grip strap, use viewfinder frame as guide (p. 17).
  • Checking Recordings: Use EDITSEARCH to review recorded scenes (p. 19).
  • Playback: Set POWER to PLAYER, insert tape, press PLAY (p. 20).

Troubleshooting and error codes

C:21:□□ • Moisture condensation has occurred.
→ Remove the cassette and leave the camcorder for at least 1 hour. (p. 63)
C:22:□□ • The video heads are dirty.
→ Clean the heads using the Sony V8-25CLD/V8-25CLDR cleaning cassette (not supplied). (p. 64)
C:23:□□ • You are using a battery pack that is not an “InfoLITHIUM" battery pack.
→ Use an “InfoLITHIUM” battery pack. (p. 62)
C:31:□□
C:32:□□
• A serviceable situation not mentioned above has occurred.
→ Remove the cassette and insert it again, then operate the camcorder.
→ Disconnect the power cord of the AC power adaptor or remove the battery pack. After reconnecting the power source, operate the camcorder.

E:62:□□
• A camcorder malfunction which you cannot service has occurred.
→ Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility and inform them of the five digits. (example: E:61:10)
