Getting Started

Charging the battery pack

1. Open the cover by sliding the lock lever and opening the cover.
2. Insert the battery pack, aligning the marks and orienting the printed side.
3. Close the cover securely.
4. Check that the camera power is OFF.
5. Connect the camera to an activated computer with the micro USB cable. The orange light indicates charging.

Inserting a memory card

Insert the memory card properly, confirming each side is facing the correct direction.

Recording

1. Attach accessories as required.
2. Press the ON/OFF button to power on.
3. Slide the REC HOLD switch and release REC HOLD.
4. Press the REC button to start recording. Press again to stop.

Wi-Fi setting

Press the Wi-Fi button to switch between connection modes (Single, Multi, Live) or turn off Wi-Fi.

Connecting to a separately sold Live-View Remote

1. Turn on the camera and set Wi-Fi to single connection.
2. Turn on the Live-View Remote and set network to single connection.
3. Select the camera's SSID using the remote.
4. Press and hold the camera's Wi-Fi button until it beeps. Camera images should display on the remote.

Connecting to multiple cameras

1. Turn on cameras and set Wi-Fi to multi connection.
2. Turn on Live-View Remote and set network to multi connection.
3. Display the camera registration screen on the remote and shift to registration standby mode.
4. Press and hold the camera's Wi-Fi button until it beeps. Images should display on the remote.
5. Repeat for up to 5 cameras.

Connecting to the smartphone

Android OS: Install PlayMemories Mobile from Google Play. Use NFC or manual Wi-Fi connection.

iOS: Install PlayMemories Mobile from App Store. Use manual Wi-Fi connection.
