Getting Started

Step 1: Checking supplied items

  • Ensure all supplied items like the lens cap, AC adaptor, power cord, microphone, wind screen, eye cup, CD-ROM, and the operating guide are present.
  • Optional: Attach the lens cap to the grip belt for convenience.

Step 2: Attaching the supplied microphone, eyecup and the lens hood

  • Microphone: Attach the wind screen, unlock the microphone holder, align the microphone, and secure it. Connect the microphone to the Mic jack.
  • Eyecup: Align the eyecup with the viewfinder groove and attach it securely.
  • Lens hood: Align marks on the lens hood with those on the camcorder and turn it. To remove, press the lever and turn in the opposite direction.

Step 3: Charging the battery pack

  • Attach the compatible "InfoLITHIUM" battery pack (L series) to the camcorder.
  • Slide the POWER switch to OFF (CHG).
  • Connect the AC Adaptor to the camcorder and the power cord to the adaptor and wall outlet. The CHG lamp indicates charging.

Step 4: Turning the power on and setting the date and time

  • Slide the POWER switch to TAPE or MEMORY while pressing the green button.
  • Set the year, month, day, hour, and minute using the touch screen.
  • Change the language setting via the MENU options.

Step 5: Making setting adjustments before recording

  • Adjust the LCD panel and viewfinder for optimal viewing.
  • Turn off the LCD screen to conserve battery.
  • Adjust the shoulder pad position by loosening and tightening screws.

Step 6: Inserting a tape or a "Memory Stick Duo"

  • Cassette tape: Slide and hold the OPEN/EJECT lever, open the lid, insert the cassette with the window facing outwards, and push the compartment.
  • "Memory Stick Duo": Open the jack cover, insert the "Memory Stick Duo" into the slot until it clicks.
